    hello everyone.

Hi, my name is David Burke. God Bless.
let me tell everyone a little about myself.
I married my high school sweetheart Evelyn and we have a son, Melvin.
Several weeks ago, i was involved in an accident in our backyard pool, i had slipped and hit my head and fell into the pool. i couldn't move and was sure i was going to drown; even though i had never really been a church going man, i prayed that God help me, and promised that if he saved my life, that i would change my life and praise His name. All of a sudden, i was able to move my legs and was able to get out of the pool. I knew this was no random happening, God had answered my prayer. My new life started that day.
My family has not been supportive of me being a better Christian. They refuse to attend religious services with me, they are angry that i refused to let our neighbors gay son enter the house.
I tell them that i have made a promise to God, and that this will be our new life. My wife is threating to leave me and take our son with her.
i don't know what to do, except to put my faith in the Lord, and pray to Him to get me through this.

    God Bless.
Living without Jesus in my heart, really wasn't living.

    Re: hello everyone.

Welcome to God's favorite forum, David. It seems that God, in His infinite mercy, has decided to make you a cripple. I'm not sure what you might have done to offend Him (poor punctuation maybe?), but who are we to question Him? Who can blame your wife for wanting to leave? She doesn't want to spend her life wiping your drool!

What church did you attend? Have you talked to your pastor about this?
    Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Why, specifically, is your wife threatening to leave you? Why haven't you provided her with enough discipline to know better? How old is your son?

        Re: hello everyone.

i have been attending First Hope Baptist.
my Pastor shares my concern of what will happen to my son if he lives with his mother and has no father to raise him the proper Christian way.

Although i am not a cripple, i see no reason for my wife to want to leave me, she took an oath before God to love and cherish me in sickness and in health.

You've obviously been too lenient on punishing her. You had better kick it up a notch. If she's serious about leaving, make sure to keep her tied down until you can instill the love of Jesus into her. After all, as the Bible teaches us, she is your property. She has no right to move around of her own free will.

Brother Basher, it's a cripple. It most likely can't tie her down or even spank her properly.

As a True Christian™ I can hear your cry for help and I cannot endorse euthanasia.

Absolutely do not roll your wheelchair into the pool, even though your suffering would be at an end in less than two minutes. Do NOT take all 12 of the oxycodone tablets your doctor prescribed for pain, all at once. Sure, that's even less suffering than the pool, but DON'T DO IT! Do not run a garden hose from your car's tailpipe in through the backdoor window and suffer the most painless death possible. Do not fire a bullet through your temple for the absolute quickest end. DON'T!

If there are any other ways you haven't thought of to end your suffering that you absolutely shouldn't do, I can provide a detailed list. Just pm me.

Brother Avatar, as always, is spot on with his Godly advice. I'd like to add that when you DO NOT run the garden hose from your car's tailpipe you don't forget NOT to pack a rag or something around the garden hose where it enters the tailpipe to prevent as much of the painlessly lethal carbon monoxide as possible from making it out the other end where you won't have drifted easily off to sleep before not succumbing to the toxic gas in your sleep. Also, you may have heard that jumping from a bridge into freezing water is a quick and relatively painless way to accidentally die, but as completely true as that is, argued by some experts as THE most painless form of causing one's own completely avoidable expiration, you must NOT consider such a thing.

Is there a way that I could do these things to my wife, and still be rightous in the eyes of the Lord? She is the one who is the non-believer. This morning, she began eating breakfast, before I was done with saying grace.

My wife is jealous that I am becoming a better Christian.
I have thrown out all her "ladies magazines", and replaced them with Bibles and cookbooks.
I have destroyed the family insurance cards and canceled all doctors appointments.
It hurts that my wife has not yet accepted Jesus has her Lord and Savior.

David, you have a heavy burden to bear, but Jesus would not give you more than you can bear, would he? Your wife should know that leaving you will surely doom her to an eternity of unspeakable torment.

                        Jeremiah 3:19-21 (King James Version)

19But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.

20Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.
21A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God.

                        Matthew 5:31-32 (King James Version)

31It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
32But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery

This means she can never remarry without committing her soul to hell. She should know these things. Show her these things in the Bible (KJV1611) and let her see for herself. Surely she would not be able to dispute this proof of the error of her ways.

If I may add to Mr Sledge's commentary, Proverb:21:9: It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.
