who do you think buys all of our trash? China. That makes us more dependent on foreign countries, not less. You don't even think about this stuff, do you/ You're just some Obamabot or a Goretron who likes to complain about other peoples' consumption despite his own impact on the environment.

China buys our trash, recycles it, and profits from it.
We could profit more from, oh lets see here, building factories, creating more domestic jobs, recycling it HERE, and THEN selling it to China.

I never said anything about how wasteful I am, and frankly I don't care. If you paid attention to my earlier post, I said I'm not a recycling fanatic, we all could just benefit from it in countless ways. You jump to conclusions too quickly, good sir. Be careful with that.

They would not buy it. We pay our workers too much money which makes our products too expensive. The Chinese do not have that problem.

As I said, I have never been a recycling fanatic, but now I am convinced that it is the wrong thing to do.

1 more question though, and I don't think it was you that said it, but does recycling really hurt our economy? and how?

I can appreciate what you are saying here, and I'm not sure that what I have received from most people here is Christ-like hospitality (understandable so), but I feel that if you are going to make a claim, at LEAST have something to back up what you said.

Recycling means reusing other peoples garbage to hold new things like food.

That's sick. Only the decrepit and malignant mind of a liberal would even consider using trash to store food. Use it and forget it, don't be a garbage eater.

Recycling means less new products (since the recycled products are used instead), less production, less work, which is all bad for the economy. Increasing consumption improves the economy. Reducing consumption damages the economy.

I guess you didn't need me to rephrase. I see what you are saying, but NEW jobs will be created by recycling. The only way recycling hurts is if it is government mandated, because then it costs more to pick up than what will be made. However, if people recycled voluntarily, fixed costs will be much lower, and with new jobs, it would create a relative economic surplus.
Like you have said though, it is against God's plan, therefore it is wrong.

You clearly do not understand economics. Recycled products would be cheaper than new products. So they create less money, less jobs, etc. Not more, less. Don't they have an economy in Russia?

Yes! Recycled products cost less, therefore, we, the consumers, will have more money to put into the economy. We would all be able to live a higher standard of living, and, not to say that the current financial crisis would have been avoided, but it would not be so bad.
So i suppose the next question I have for you, Old Man, is do YOU understand economics? I pray that I phrased that simply enough for you,but something is telling me I did not.
