No, but it does mean you should never run for public office.

Yet the innocent comments of Mrs. Whitford had you in quite the tizzy. Interesting.

And again, about my father, no he is not dead. He is proud that I am in college, since I am one of the first in our family able to go. No, my pastor has not found a man for me, considering he left our church because of the differences between he and the congregation, and soon after I also left. I have yet to find a new church, having recently moved to a new town to attend school. And the fact that I'm twenty and not married isn't that bad, considering the age that women marry today has been moved to later years because of a shift in society. Before I begin to consider those things I would rather have a steady place for myself in the world so I can contribute to the family income, the economy being as bad as it is. And being a teacher is a worthwhile job, being able to do outreach to the children in my community.
You ran your Pastor out on a rail? You think being a spinster is socially acceptable? An income is nothing, any person can do that. Mastering the creation of Soldiers for Christ™, now that is an accomplishment. You only have so many years before the factory shuts down. So you think if you work, the economy will benefit? You are taking a job away from a man. I am sure you are aware, men make more than women. By you working, you are reducing the total GDP. Pretty selfish and all because "you want to work". Look here missy, it is not all about you.

I am hardly a spinster, being 20. And I do have a boyfriend of two years now, but we are both finishing our college careers before marrying, which we have planned to do. I didn't want to mention him because I had a feeling I may be harassed about having a boyfriend and dating. He and I plan on marrying, starting a life together, and having children, but until the time comes I am planning on finishing my college degree to better benefit the family that I plan to have. My future-husband is proud of me, because we will be able to combine our incomes and provide better for our family. I hardly see that as selfish.

As for a man making more than a woman, that is hardly the case anymore, considering all of the laws made for the equal rights of men and women. And teaching is a very balanced work-branch for both men and women. Women have been teachers for years, I don't see why there should be a problem with it.

Oh, and I did not "run my pastor out on a rail". He left the church I was attending because of the congregation falling into gossiping and other sorts of things that he found distasteful and he chose to relocate. I left soon after because I disagreed with the way the people were acting, it wasn't about God it was more about social standing and putting on a good face.

You better hurry up girl, at 20 it'll be hard to find another man if things don't work out.

Also pertaining to women and men, scrutinize this passage:

                    1 Timothy 2:11-14

A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

No, my man is not a "sissy homer", but thank you for your heart-felt concern. He will be making more money than me, though that isn't what should be important. I'm merely studying to be a teacher so we will be able to give our children better opportunities with two incomes. Plus, as a teacher, I will be able to raise my children because of the work schedule.

As for the scripture from Timothy, while that is a relevant fact, I do not see myself as going against God. My husband-to-be wishes that I contribute to the family, and this is a way of contributing.

No, sadly he does not read the Bible as he should. I've spoken to him numerous times about it, but he is always so preoccupied... with his art. We seem to have differing views as of late regarding our eternal souls. He does not attend church with me either, he stays up too late on Saturday evenings playing one of his games ... I think it's called World of Warcraft. To be honest... I'm not sure I'm on the right path that God set for me. Any advice would be welcome.
