  • Greetings from England! (Newfound Christian)

My name is Arthur and I come from the United Kindgdom.
I spent my life as a sinner, I didn't believe Gods word before and have commited many Sins.
I have now started attending Malvern Baptist Church as wish to repent my many sins.
Do you think God can forgive my misbehaviour or am I doomed to eternal damnation?

    Praise Jesus,
    Arthur

Welcome, Brother. I'm sorry to hear you come from that demon-infested hellhole. I hope Jesus will save you nevertheless.

It is very easy, in fact. Just accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and regularly tithe to your church, and you are guaranteed a ticket to Heaven.

      Praise Jesus,
      Arthur
      Amen, Brother.

By the way, what is your favorite Bible verse?
      Sweet Lord Jesus,
I want to pray for those who persecute me, my Lord.
Please, treat their children as you treated those of Egypt, when they upset you! (Psalm 135:8-9)
Dash their little children against the stones for their fathers iniquity! (Psalm 137:8-9)
Hit them on the cheek, and smash out their teeth! (Psalm 3:7)
Make their death and descent into Hell swift and terrible! (Psalm 55:15)
Scatter their broken bodies over the streets of their evil cities, like Benghazi, Amsterdam, Tokyo and Mecca! (Psalm 110:6)
      Praised be Your Glorious Name™.

      Amen.

          Art is fine!
I have accepted Jesus in every way and renounced Satan.
However I do often wonder if this unquestionable absolutism I see here is really the will of God. Surely the fact God made man in his own image and has given us the free will to question our own belief is important here. If god wanted us to believe everything the bible says fundamentally, why has he given us free will to question it?

My favourite Bible verse tends to vary, but at the moment is has to be
Matthew 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

God has given us his word, Its the Bible. We are commanded to follow His words not dispute them.

It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

Because He wanted to give us the freedom to reject His Words in the Bible and choose Hell over Heaven, of course. The trick of True Christian(tm) Faith is not questioning God, even though you have the ability to.

That is acceptable. You don't forget what follows directly after this passage, I hope?

              Matthew 25:49-50:
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Your quote is a great example of the forgiving Love of Jesus Christ, but many people forget that the Bible also includes verses that are less "nice." It is useful to view the Bible in its entirety.
