Re: READ THIS BEFORE YOU FLAME US!
Interesting reading, from all sides. Lots of scripture being quoted. Except, in my view, the most important of all that NO ONE in this entire forum seems to recognize or comprehend. Allow me to provide assistance, then, if at all possible.
Consider any microorganism, which would classify as the smallest living thing on Earth. To assist and for sake of discussion, let's go with a "nanobe," although any microorganism would work well.
Just to visually discern a single nanobe requires an electron microscope, as each one one-one thousandth the size of the diameter of a single human hair.
So you have a single nanobe ... now think of yourself, a human being, capable of an infinitie number of things. Walking, thinking, emotions, invention, dreams - the list is endless.
Get a piece of paper, now, and write down all the differences between you and a single nanobe. Here's a start:
1.) I can move my right index finger.
2.) I can touch something with my right index finger.
3.) I can scratch a thousand different parts of my body with my right index finger.
... you get the point. The list could include billions of differences based solely on one finger. In other words, no one reading this could ever come CLOSE to compiling a list covering a single hand vs. a nanobe, making an entire list beyond our capabilities of comprehension. We don't even have the imaginary ability to conceive of how long that list would be. Human vs. Nanobe.
Now turn that around. God vs. Human. No one here has the ability to comprehend how long that list of differences would be. You might say, well, God can do this, or He will do that, etc., but the fact is, none of you possess the intellect or capability to even comprehend God.
So to sit here and talk about who's going to hell, or what God thinks, or anything related to God is ridiculous. The Bible does not reflect or describe the totality of God's power, or spirit ... it was put into context the lowest common denominators could understand. But it also says something else that clearly gets lost in this forum: Don't even try to understand God because He is beyond your comprehension.
And just as God is beyond any human's comprehension, so too is what exists in the minds of fellow human beings. If Person A is homosexual, everyone here immediately warns of eternal damnation, going to hell, and so forth, but here's the deal: That person's fate and life is between him or her and God. Only God knows what exists in that person's mind and soul, regardless of what their physical actions might be. None of you do. I don't either. I may not appreciate what homosexual people prefer, and find it unappealing to watch them be affectionate, but they also aren't my problem, and it would be ignorant for me to believe I have any idea of what their relationships with God might be, or the history of it. The same thing applies to anyone damned by people in this forum.
But to call some posters a "witch" or a "harlot" for their views ... or single out who is going to hell, and who isn't ... you know as much of the relationships between God and each of His children as a nanobe knows about us, and probably much less.
