Hi, I joined this site because I was referred by my brother, who tried to create less hatred in the world, and you crucified him. I am a Lutheran, a proud Airman, happily married to my Athiest wife, who I love with all my heart, and a goth myself. Zephaniah 1:8? Okay, how about something less obscure, like.... John 3:16? God loves the world, from the neo-Nazi zealots who crush those that have independant thought like yourselves, to the Islamic extremists (and by the way, you are no better than they). I will be going to Heaven because I believe in God and the sacrifice Jesus made for mankind. And do members of the Jewish faith get into Heaven? Because Jesus was Jewish. And a Middle-Eastern! He was about as white as Saddam Hussien. Jesus taught love and forgiveness, not hatred and damnation. I just thought it should be brought up. When we meet on Judgement Day, we will see who was right, but if you share a little Christian love with your fellow man, your life will be that much fuller. Don't limit yourself to members of your congregation either. Life is more enjoyable with a wider variety of experiences. Live a little, or does God not want us to enjoy this world He created for us?

It is abundnatly clear that you think that one part of God's Word is more important than another.

This is the same as saying, "Listen to me, because I know better than God, because I know His Mind."

As it happens,

Joh:3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

states quite clearly that God loves the world - i.e. in its entirety and in general. Whom He loves within that, is a matter for Him.

You will recall that this is also the world that he flooded because it had gone wrong. It could well be that there were people around who weren't that bad but whom God saw as dispensible.

God's Overview cannot be used to justify God liking your brother (or not.)

That's called greasy grace, and it's not what the Bible teaches:

Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Genesis 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

So, basically, on day #6, God was pretty happy with what He created. Then we have the entire chapters of Genesis 2, 3, 4 and 5 that talk about what mankind did.

And here it comes... context....

6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
6:7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

So, essentially, man made the wrong choices and disappointed God. THAT IS WHY God repented.

It's not a contradiction, it's a chronological set of events.

You post rants, then you post just 'bites' from the Bible. You need to express a complete though and the complete section. If I were to say to you "My wife went to" then said "My wife never went to", what would you think? You need the rest to paint the picture. The topper of course is, after a particularly drug razed rant, you are the next poster, claiming to of just woken and say crazy talk.

Son, I want to be your friend. I want to introduce you to my friends. We all want to love you. A deep, penetrating Love, one that will stir the bowels of your life. Jesus wants to befriend you too.
