Hi, all. I've been reading this board for some time, and I've finally decided to create an account so that I can respond to the outlandish views that I see here. I probably won't agree with most of you people on much, since you prize being Christian Republican heterosexuals, and I am none of those things.
I was brought up as a Catholic, but when I read the Bible for myself, I decided that I could not accept it as true and deconverted. Even though I reject the Bible, I have to commend you on your intellectual honesty in actually following it, while so many who call themselves Christians just decide a priori what they want to believe and then make believe that the Bible backs them up.
Here is my favorite passage from the Bible:
Ecclesiastes 3:18-22
18I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
19For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
20All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
21Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
22Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?
