    Fortune favors the bold

My name's Simon, I'm from Michigan in the United States. I'm not very religious. I find not enough time to attend church or other religious gatherings, but often find myself pondering the nature of the Divine.

Through a widget for the Firefox web browser, by chance, fate or God i StumbledUppon this forum. Reading several articles, I became quite confused. Naturally, a confused person seeks answers. Answers to questions. Questions to discover more questions, perhaps.

And that is my purpose... Perhaps I'll become a member of this online community, perhaps not. However, as the saying goes, "Fortune favors the bold", and there is nothing lost by trying to ask my questions, and perhaps they will even be answered satisfactorally.

I would like to pre-emtively thank the community for taking the time to read my messages, and I hope that you will be patient with me.

I have never understood this "I don't have enough time to be a True Christian" argument.

Let's say you had a dread disease, and in order to stay alive you had to go to the hospital once a week to get a shot.

Would you say, "Oh I don't have enough time to treat my sickness, so I'll just die instead"?

I think not. I think you would make that appointment the most important part of your week.

The truth is you ARE dying of a disease called sin, and I'd start making time for church and GOD before it's too late.

Your confusion stems from not reading the Bible and knowing the Lord. I suggest you start reading the Bible and getting to know God and Jesus.

Psalm 71:1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

Psalm 109:29 Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
Genesis 24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
Song of Solomon 1:15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.

I've always thought that you all considered hospitals to be evil.

If you read B4G's post, it suggested that the atheist poster goes to hospital for the shots, not a True Christian(tm).

A short stay in any hospital will convince the most ardent monkey-worshipper that the way to health is through prayer to bring you nearer the Lord's protection.
