    Unsaved trash

    Hello

Hello, I had received a warning in my inbox and was fairly startled! Before my introduction, I have a question, why are all newcomers marked as Unsaved Trash?
I found Jesus through the guidance of a counselor at the age of 11. My desire to be near to Jesus led me to sing his praises into the night sky, where I could feel him around me, welcoming. When I began to attend churches, I was struck by the hypocrisy found there, so I continued my journey alone. Now, I have the desire to join this forum, and not be alone. To be with other, true worshippers. Jesus loves.

    Re: Hello

Hello, to answer your question about unsaved trash, all members, big or small, start out as unsaved trash. If the president were to sign up, he would be unsaved trash too. However, if you prove yourself, you will become higher and higher in the ranks, until you are Saved. You are welcome, and please, sin no more.

Also, introduce yourself. What is your favorite bible verse, and what church do you go to? Have you reared any sons? How have you found Jesus?

    YIC,
    Melvin K. Dobbs.
"In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him." 1 John 4:9

"A soft answer turneth away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger." Proverbs 15:1

        Re: Hello

        Thank you for the clarification.
I am 29 years old. My father is not a believer; most unfortunatly. My relationship with Jesus is one of guidance. He helps me and gives me comfort in times of grief.
I have read some of the bible, and I am working on completeing it. The main thing that draws me to the faith however, is acceptance in Jesus, comfort, love and truth.

In answer to the rearing of sons question, sadly, I have reared no children yet; for lack of finding a suitable woman.

The Word of God can be had for free if you just visit your local Independant Baptist Church and ask the Pastor for one. Make sure you ask specifically for a KJV1611 Authorized Version Bible.

Also you can read one online at www.biblegateway.com. And for your assisted reading pleasure, Brother V has got a wonderful thread going HERE called "Bible in a Year."

If you'd like to find out more about Landover Baptist Church, please read THIS thread created especially for new posters.

If you have a question, use the "search" function before posting it. Most likely it is being discussed somewhere on this Godly forum. Please don't waste God's precious bandwidth.

                I am curious.

Your name is "biblelover" spelled backward. Yet you have not read the Bible. Why did you choose this name? Is there a particular part of the Bible which you have read, which you love?

You say you are primarily attracted to Christianity because of "acceptance in Jesus, comfort, love, and truth". Could you explain to us what these things mean to you?
"Acceptance in Jesus." What does that mean?

In what do you find comfort?

How do you define love, in the context of Christianity?

What is truth, and how do you learn what is truth?
Thanks, and welcome! I ask these questions so that we may learn what you understand Christianity to be; please accept them in the spirit intended. It's not an inquisition!

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

                  2 Corinthians 11:13-15

13For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
But whosoever shall deny me before men,
him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Most of us here have had similar experiences with the hypocrisy of most "Christians." They claim to read the Bible and yet insist on ignoring 99% of it. They go around saying things like "the Bible is all about peace and love" when they know it is not. (See the scientific study in my sig block that proves this is the case.) They also do things like say that they believe that the Bible is the unerring word of God and yet, when pressed, they do things like eat shellfish, wear clothes made of cotton/poly blends, and see doctors instead of praying.

I am glad to see this disgusts you, too. Are you married? If so, how many sons do you have?

                      Re: Hello

To Rev. M. Rodimer, it is the truth that I have not read the whole bible, however it does hold my full respect. If it is the word of God, then I love it. The acceptance in Jesus that I find is that if I follow all the rules set (I hear you Gabriel Reproba!) then I can find eternal salvation. Also I have accepted him into my heart as the son of God who died for my sins. I find comfort in the fact that he is watching over me, and listening to my prayers. If I am in times of trouble, I always have him, my Lord to turn to. I also find comfort in the fact that he is guiding me through my life. How I define love in the context of Christianity... my that is a very good question Rev. M. Rodimer! I would have to say that it is not only the love of God and of the faith, but of ones that are saved as well. Once you have accepted Jesus into your heart, the love comes through and you feel the powerful drive to help, such as missionary work. God Bless.
What is truth? Truth is the Lord of course and the Bible as well as others that believe. You can find it though trusted Christians and prayer. We will not walk blindly through life- but walk with the Lord!
To PetitionLady, you make an excellent point. Most 'Christians' in the world are not true Christians.
This brings me right to Gabriel Reproba's post. Though the rules are a bit hard to follow, people should try their best, and beg Jesus for forgiveness if they cannot. Unfortunatly, as you eloquently stated, it is a small minority of true Christians who do follow the rules set by God.

Your answers were excellent, except for this final statement.

Every single True Christian™ follows the rules set by God, not a minority of them. That is part of the definition of True Christian™.

There are many false Christians who give the Lord lip service, call themselves Christian, and sin anyway; yes, that is the vast majority of people who call themselves Christian.

Every True Christian is expected to never sin. You mentioned that you haven't read the entire Bible yet. I think it's safe for me to assume that you have not yet read this passage:

I John 3: 8-9 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
