I want to be a True American

    Hi, my name is Brecht

I was intrigued by your thread about why God hates Belgium. Now that I know Belgariums are foul, vicious being ripe for damnation, I wish to become a True American.

Can anyone help me in how to go about that?

My name seems to suggest otherwise, but I am certainly not German or Dutch.
Luke 15:7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

Welcome to our friendly family forum!

While I understand you wanting to become a Godly True American, your focus should be on becoming a True Christian(tm)! The best way to do that is with some serious Bible study.
5 Reasons why GOD HATES WOMEN!
To most "Christians" The Bible is like a license agreement. They just scroll to the bottom and click "I agree". All those "Christians" will burn in Hell!
James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."

And how to become True Christian™? Is a bible study sufficient? And how do I get my hands on the book which speaks the one and only truth?

        As brother Cranky says friend.

And as to you wanting to be a True American...that's absurd. You can't be. Not even Arnold Schwazennegger, your compatriot, is one.

This verse covers that wanting of yours:

Proverbs 14:8The wisedome of the prudent is to vnderstand his way: but the folly of fooles is DECEIT.

As a Scot, I know we ALL have our crosses to bear. Be Belgian. But be a True Christian Belgian. Immigration control can work out the rest at some point if He seeth fit.

        YIC, McUinnean, of that Ilk.

You can get a KJV1611 Holy Bible at bookstores or a nearby Babtist Church. Or use an KJV 1611 Holy Bible!

I've already tried Canada. They said the same thing there, so now I'm willing to settle for second best. Being intelligent but humble as I am, I'm surprised you won't have me.

Oh, and I'm also right handed!

Did you start on studying that Bible yet? There is not time to waste as Jesus can decide to kill you any moment He chooses.

The Word of God can be had for free if you just visit your local Independant Baptist Church and ask the Pastor for one. Make sure you ask specifically for a KJV1611 Authorized Version Bible.

Also you can read one online at www.biblegateway.com. And for your assisted reading pleasure, Brother V has got a wonderful thread going HERE called "Bible in a Year."

Please do not be flippant. In any case abstinence is always an option, as with everything.

                        There are alternatives.

                        The Lord tells us this.
Job 24:5Behold, as wilde asses in the desart, goe they foorth to their worke, rising betimes for a pray: the wildernes yeeldeth FOOD for them, and for their children.

Leaving is my way of abstaining. I want to prevent ending up like Adam, who was tempted by the snake and by his wife.

Genesis 3:6 - When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

Right there I see a problem. You are using the wrong bible. Nowhere in that story does it mention snakes.

You've got a point, fellow student. I think I'm confused by my earlier bible-education. I'm trying my best, thank you for pointing out my errors.

But please, do not be burdened by them.

Job 19:4 If it is true that I have gone astray, my error remains my concern alone
