First 'Catcher in the Rye' is a fiction story, no one would believe in it in the first place. Maybe the bible is a fiction story, who knows, it doesn't says it's a non-fiction.
Second, I indeed BELIEVE in nothing, I only want to understand how the world works and sympathise with other people that have different views (to learn from other's experience). You apparently just threaten me of eternal damnation. I want only want to KNOW how things work, I am not person who has blind faith in something that can't be visible, feeled, measured, exposed, theorized (scientifically, by the scientific method) or even rationally explained (only use of logic).
By the way, "few lines", yeah they're are many "lines" indeed, but only a few good ones (that can been actually used in real life).
