    Hello!

I'm new here, and I guess the intro forum is as good a place as any to start. So hello, I am a teenager (or young adult, however you want to put it), female, and from Georgia.

Nice to meet you all. And I've got some questions if you don't mind- but don't worry, I'm not here to yell or cause a fuss or anything, haha.

Starting with, why is there a ™ behind the word "Christian" so often here? Just curious why you've trademarked it.
Teenaged, yes. A papist, I suppose. But certainly not a rape victim. Kindly ignore the title by my username, I don't know how it got there and am ignorant of how to remove it. I apologize for unintentionally misleading you!
    God bless.

I put a call into the Church office for Miss Cookie to see if her father filed a permission slip but it seems Miss Cookie is at afternoon services the dinner and will not be back at work for a few more hours. I hope this means we do not have to babysit.

Thank you for your concern, but my father trusts me to make my own choices. He himself is a Christian man and I doubt he would protest me joining a forum such as this one.

Now that we've got that out of the way, can we move on?

When I was lurking earlier, I noticed that you have listed Catholics under your list of non-Christians. Now, I'm pretty sure that the papacy is corrupt (therefore I don't pay much attention to the Pope, ect), and I'm not sure that confessing to a priest is the right way to go about repenting, but on the whole I consider myself a Catholic, and also a Christian.

I do have a Bible and I read it pretty often, but I'm of the mind that the Bible is not meant to be taken literally. However, I have a feeling that neither of us will budge on this. So yes, let's avoid a discussion that would rapidly turn into a petty argument, haha.

However, would you be willing to expound on why you believe Catholics- 'catlicks,' if you wish- are not Christian? Much thanks.

              God bless.

God doesn't care much what you consider yourself, all He cares about is that you follow the correct Bible TO THE LETTER. And that Bible is the KJV 1611.

Catholics are about as Christian as Muslims or Scientologists. They worship Jesus' mom and a bunch of dead perverts. Also, Catholic priests are gay pedophile rapists, so there's that too.

You'd better become a real Christian ASAP young lady! What if you get hit by a bus or murdered by a Jesuit? It'd be Hell for all eternity, and that would be a real shame, since you're more polite than the average unsaved Catholic whores that usually wander in here.

                  Re: Hello!

Oh! I see where's you're coming from. It's a common misconception that Catholics worship Mary and the saints (who are certainly dead, but were probably not perverts).

We do pray to Mary and the saints, but withhold the worship for the true God, be it the Father, the Son, or the Holy Spirit. Of course, we pray to God too.

Worship is one's total love and devotion, and that is reserved for God alone among Catholics. However, if you define the concept of worship differently, then your argument is valid from where you're standing, in that you believe that prayer is worship in itself. Please correct me if I'm wrong about your beliefs here! Anyway, it shouldn't really be a conflict.

Calling our priests 'gay pedophile rapists' is a generalization, and while some would fit the description, it is a small number. I would go as far to say that other priests in other denominations are exactly the same, but either way it's no basis for attacking an entire religion. That's known as ad hominem, and is a logical fallacy. So let's not go there, in the name of sanity. :]

Which Scriptures give you that impression? Because the Holy KJV 1611 Bible tells us that it is God's ACTUAL, LITERAL word. Why you papists would want to water His word down is beyond me.

                      Re: Hello!

Why would interpreting the Bible as metaphorical "water down" the Word of God? Not limiting your perception of the Bible to the literal shows you layers upon layers of meaning in the holy text! I don't recall any Scripture that explicitly states that the Bible is literal, but I may be mistaken and would appreciate a reference.

Thanks for directing me to that thread, Pastor Ezekiel. I respectfully disagree, but it's nothing that can be solved here.

There was an intriguing point, when you posted:

"WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS - It is idolatry to venerate images. We are not even supposed to make them.
                      Exodus
20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
                      "

Does this mean that there are not pictures, stained glass, ect, in Baptist churches? I admit I've never been in one, so I'm curious.

God does not inspire versions or translations, He inspired the originals, the King James is a translation into English of God's Word.....simples. We cannot cherrypick bits we like or say that well maybe God meant this or meant that.

Psalm 19:7 "The law of the LORD is PERFECT, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is SURE, making wise the simple."

Psalm 12:6 "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times."

There are two references to start you off with.
If you don't believe it then go read your bible - you DON"T have a bible??? Then prepare for eternal damnation sinner.

@Panopticon, why do you think God would have to express Himself via cryptic allegories? Don't you think He is smart enough to inspire people to write down His exact meaning? I would also like to know the symbolic meaning of Scripture like this:

                            Leviticus 20:9-16
9For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.
10And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
11And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
12And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them.
13If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
14And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.
15And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast. 16And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
                            To the atheists:

                            To the false christians:

Feel like pissing off God? Perhaps this will change your mind:

                            Hosea 13:16
Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
