I do not see what logic has to do with this. It's just the way God created everything. Whether or not His grand plan is logical to you is completely irrelevant. You can compare it to an ant not understanding the logic of the little boy burning him with a magnifying glass. The ant not understanding the logic of the little boy will not change his suffering, at all. And the difference between the ant and the little boy is very small compared to the difference between God and men. We are way to small to even begin to understand God. All we can do is what we have been created to do. Worship God until the day we die and hope He allows us to enter Heaven.

I'm not really sure where you got the notion that stories from the bible were not made up of ancient religions. According to the Bible Earth has only existed for 6,000 years there are ancient religions that date farther back than this. Also, I have already proven that the Earth is much older than what the Bible claims it to be.
I must have missed your proof, but the Bible is very clear on the age of everything being about 6,000 years. And people claiming something is over 6,000 years old and just making things up. Most of these people haven't even lived over 100 years so there is no way they can really know things about thousands of years ago.

I kind of lol'd at the fact that you think science did not explain gravity.
Really? Then please provide the scientific explanation for gravity. And don't forget your explanation has to cover aspects like extra fast stars, the Pioneer anomaly, the flyby anomaly, accelerating expansion, the anomalous increase of the astronomical unit, extra energetic photons, dark flow and extra massive hydrogen clouds. Scientists all over the world will be thrilled that you have solved a puzzle they have been unable to solve for centuries.

If you claim to be so close to him, then why was she not healed by your prayers?
Because she is in Heaven now. She is happier now than either of us can even imagine.

    Yours in Jesus Christ,

    Pastor J.C. Manning, M.D., Ph.D.

Typical atheist cop out? There is hundreds of views on this thread, but I have not been given any decen evidence that GOD exists. Instead, I've been attacked and been forced to debate something. Why don't you post showing me that He does exist? No one has even bothered arguing with some of my main points, but attacked the smaller things such as; my grammar, little points made that don't matter to the topic of this situation, and ignorant generalizations towards me. What if I did post the proof? I already know none of you will read it, but simply ignore it as you have done in the past to other people. When I do post it I expect an apology from you.

    Dear Teach me,

    You're welcome.

I would not have expected otherwise.

Free will is a complicated matter. What you perceive as free will is already known to God since He is all knowing.

That is a very bold statement without any arguments to back it up. If what you claim would be the case then please supply some examples to make your point. I will gladly respond to them.

Well, I have done a lot of research and Bible study as well and I disagree with your conclusion here. What you perceive as ancient stories on which the Bible is based is actually the other way around. Many stories that originated in the Bible got a life on their own by people repeating and altering them.

I think you missed the point I tried to make about faith. While God has left us many clues of His existence, He has not left us any absolute proof on the matter. Otherwise faith would no longer be a requirement and that is not how it works.

Even simple things like gravity have yet to be explained by science. And the grand unifying theory Einstein was trying to create is farther away than ever. So far the Large Hadron Collider has created more mysteries than it solved, it completely derailed leading theories on superstrings.

I agree I should have been more specific. There is indeed science that has not been refuted, Christian science to be exact.

I do realize that and so does God. He wrote about that in His Holy Bible: "For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) and also "There is none righteous; no, not one." (Romans 3:10)

I kind of lol'd at the fact that you think science did not explain gravity. You keep proving points that are irrelevent to the question I have asked many, many times. I'm tired of having to explain my point of view. You say these forums are not for discussing, or arguing, but that's all you have caused. Also, I read a thread that a young girl had a problem with her eyes. It caused me great pain to read this because she could have simply went to a TRUE docotor, but seeked help through prayer, and your guidance. She was not healed, nor got better, but worse. Where is your GOD to help her now? If you claim to be so close to him, then why was she not healed by your prayers? I'm more than sure if she went to a real doctor, then she would have been fine that day.

    You're welcome.

I'd have to disagree that He would try to influence you on making a decision on whether to believe in him or not.
I would not have expected otherwise.

I've seen many of you state that He wants free will for you, so how is that free if He influences your decision?
Free will is a complicated matter. What you perceive as free will is already known to God since He is all knowing.

I'm sorry, but the Bible contradicts itself plenty of times throughout the Bible.
That is a very bold statement without any arguments to back it up. If what you claim would be the case then please supply some examples to make your point. I will gladly respond to them.

I've done a lot of research into religion and most of the stories in the Bible are based off of ancient religions/Astronomy. If you don't believe me, then you can research it yourself. The Bible was written by man and interpreted by man throughout time.

What you perceive as ancient stories on which the Bible is based is actually the other way around. If GOD was real, then he would have made a book himself written by himself, and not allowed it to be messed with like it has.
I think you missed the point I tried to make about faith. While God has left us many clues of His existence, He has not left us any absolute proof on the matter. Otherwise faith would no longer be a requirement and that is not how it works.

I'm pretty confused as to how you can make such claims that science cannot explain everything around us.
Even simple things like gravity have yet to be explained by science. And the grand unifying theory Einstein was trying to create is farther away than ever. So far the Large Hadron Collider has created more mysteries than it solved, it completely derailed leading theories on superstrings.

There are plenty of scientific facts that haven't been refuted. Someone with your type of education shouldn't make such bold claims as this.
I agree I should have been more specific. There is indeed science that has not been refuted, Christian science to be exact.

You have to realize that people as a whole are evil, evil creatures
I do realize that and so does God. He wrote about that in His Holy Bible: "For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) and also "There is none righteous; no, not one." (Romans 3:10)

I don't care if anyone agrees with me or not. I'm not here to make friends and agree with other people. I never spit in anyone's eye. I simply exercised my right of free will to choose whether I believe or not. What absolutely astounds me is that you have not given me any real evidence. I've been shown a picture of space, quoted scripture from the Bible, and told about Biblical smiteings. Give me some solid proof of something, besides a book written by man, or space photos.

The oldest tree that I found living at this moment is 9,550 years old. According to the Bible and based off of what I've found, the Earth is around 6,000 years old. I'm sure that makes complete sense. I too, thought I was dealing with someone that had some sort of intelligence, but if you really believe He made mountains weathered just for the look of it, then that's pretty sad. I'm guessing you don't believe in erosion, or anything like that? You know, one of the natural disasters that destroy cities, or the work of GOD, so you claim.

From what I understand you're saying that everything we know is based upon our reality. Thus, the only logical answer could be that it was created by some super omnicient being called GOD?
    Yes
Based off of what you're saying everything you so valiantly fight against is attributed by GOD?
Yes, (if I understand you correctly) because God created us and gave us free will.
If GOD created Eden and all things in 6 days, then technically humans should be as old as the planet. How are there things that date back farther than humans? There are trees/mountains that date back farther than the Bible says Earth has been around.
No, there are no trees that old.
How can they exist before what you are told?
In the case of mountains, He made them like that. Do you think everything looked brand new? Why should it? Why should there not be some style and artistry? Are you confining God?

24And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

    Earthquake

Numbers 16:30-32 But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD.
And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:
And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.

There are many citations of plagues God sends, but here's one from the golden calf incident.

Exodus 24:35 And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.

    Hemorrhoids

1 Sam 5:6 But the hand of the Lord was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.

    Blindness

Gen. 19:11 And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

    Sending angels to slaughter people.

Ezekiel 9:5-7 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:
Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.
And he said unto them, Defile the house (alternately temple), and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

    Those are just a few.
I simply stated a few of the punishments He did in the Old Testament. I don't care how many you named because it doesn't address the point I was making. Bears are wild animals, not GOD's work to destroy an entire city. I have not seen, or heard of an entire city being destroyed by a Godly smiting ever, besides in the Bible.

GOD does not smite anything himself. Those are natural catastrophes. In the Bible it describes cities being destroyed by fire and brimstone, not a tidal wave, or earthquake. There is no point to faith, it's simply not wanting to know what is true. If he loved mankind so much, then why would he not bring all of us up to His glory, and make us "perfect"? All you have done is tried to get me to prove GOD doesn't exist, when all I asked for was you to prove to me his existence. I have not be given subsequent evidence to prove of his existence.
