Re: I'm here for one reason:
I didn't ask why you believed in him, but to prove that he does. I'm sorry, but I can't put faith towards a book written by a man and altered since it's creation. Yes, life is a glorious gift and it truly is breath taking in every way. Just because you don't believe in GOD, or any other religion doesn't mean you cannot see the beauty in the world. You think atheists are all bad, ignorant, evil people. Every single one of my friends are atheists and I hate to say this, but are better people than every Christian I know. By being better people I mean we are genuinely kind people. We don't act this way because some book told us to, because we're scared to spend eternity in Hell, but because that is the right thing to do it's who we are. I'm sure you've heard of the placebo effect. You give someone that is sick a pill that does nothing and tell them it's the cure, then they are magically healed. They're healed because they believed in the pill and that it was the answer. This has the exact effect on Christians. You say GOD makes you successful and blesses you with the strength, then when something bad happens it's the Devil only testing your faith, so it strengthens your faith in the Lord. Thus, having a stronger placebo effect on your life. It's much easier for a person that's lived a life of evil that wants to change, but cannot, then finds something to believe in, and strengthen their quest to become a better person. This does not mean there is a GOD, but the simple fact that they wanted to become a better person and believed in something. You would have to admit a person that has ambition/believes in something does better than a person that doesn't.
