Mary was just a woman, who happened to carry Jesus. How does she deserve any credit for the fine work of Jesus? My mother gave birth to me, she did not take any credit for my success.

Actually, he was born in an anti-nazi family, but he (along with many, many other youth) was forced to join the nazi youth before being drafted by the nazis. Then he went AWOL and hid in an Allied POW camp. After the war, he joined the priesthood.

One other small observation, you might have read it, I highly doubt that you " heard it" unless you hear voices while reading .
