Hello LBC forum members,

I live in the bible belt, grew up going to church, but had a personal falling out with religion. I do not come here to debate, but rather to ask questions and receive feedback on my concerns. I understand the LBC takes a literal-ist approach to the King James bible, but my concerns fall with the fact of the book itself.

If man is imperfect himself, how can multiple men over many years, even after Jesus's death, write the book that the LBC and Christians around the world devote their lives to? How can this book be followed without stringent examination, reflection, inspection, and pessimism, considering the amount of scribes it passed through, the oversight in it's replication over ~2k+ years? It has been modified, heavily edited, added to, full texts removed...to the point where it is today. One cannot, with faith and conviction, believe that what is in your hands today is what was the acts of divine inspiration that comprised the earliest recordings of the apostles, and others.

No, we take a "literal" approach to following the KJV1611 as commanded by God (there is no "ist"):

Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Deuteronomy 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Proverbs 30:6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Matthew 4:4 Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Revelation 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

The KJV1611 is the literal word of God and who are we (or YOU) to question His wisdom?

I understand this, but who wrote it down?

God did not write it.

It was a mans hand who wrote it. Man is imperfect.

Then, over thousands of years, it was re-written, translated across languages, edited, revised, etc.

Translating across languages alone should be enough to find a literal translation as inadequate. The bible was not written in American English. So how can KCJ1611 possibly be the literal word of god? I do not understand this.

Uhm, GOD was the one that wrote the THE KINGJAMES BIBLE not a bunch of guys like you said. If you don't believe me, it says so RIGHT IN THE BIBLE!

God did not write it.

Think of God as the CEO of a major corporation. Do CEO's write anything? No, they dictate. As God did with the Bible.

2nd Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Habakkuk 2:2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

Jeremiah 36:2 Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

So now that we have this settled, and you now believe without a doubt; it is not good to be a doubting thomas, it angers God. So are you ready to be Saved©?

OK, I'm not a Pastor or anything, since I'm a girl and all, but I am a True Christian™ so here goes:

In like olden times, but not Bible times, this English King named James got told by GOD that the Bibles that everyone was using were all wrong and messed up. It was from them being translated wrong, and some of the guys who wrote some of them made mistakes, and some were just dirty liars who put stuff in there to make themselves feel all cool and stuff.

So King James got all these like super smart guys that could write really good and he told them what to write, but only after GOD told him what he wanted in the new Bible.

So, it took like a long time, like YEARS and YEARS, but it got done in 1611. That's why we ONLY read the THE KING JAMES BIBLE!!!

OK, I'm not a Pastor or anything, since I'm a girl and all, but I am a True Christian™ so here goes:

In like olden times, but not Bible times, this English King named James got told by GOD that the Bibles that everyone was using were all wrong and messed up. It was from them being translated wrong, and some of the guys who wrote some of them made mistakes, and some were just dirty liars who put stuff in there to make themselves feel all cool and stuff.

So King James got all these like super smart guys that could write really good and he told them what to write, but only after GOD told him what he wanted in the new Bible.

So, it took like a long time, like YEARS and YEARS, but it got done in 1611. That's why we ONLY read the THE KING JAMES BIBLE!!!
