Hi!

I am a young-ish woman from Finland and I am an atheist. I bet a lot of you dislike me already because of these facts but I am not here to criticise or bash any of you because the old Chinese wisdom says that you should treat others as you wish to be treated. Meaning I hope I can get the same respect from you I give to you. The reason why I'm here is pure curiosity. I find Christianity quite fascinating and I want to learn and hear more even if I don't agree with everything you say. I think in some things it's quite easy to relate to Christians (atleast to certain extent) because after all many things in western culture have a base in Christianity.

Also, I know my English isn't perfect but I try my best. But only God can judge, right?

Wow. I must say I'm quite suprised by the way you people talk to new members. I always though the main thing in Christianity was being warm and open-hearted to even atheists.

Extra Eskimo, I don't believe in god but I don't go around telling people not to believe in it. It's their choice and their life and we have to respect it. Just like I wish they'd respect my choice of not believing.

To all of you said about this chinese-thing; that same thing has been said over and over again in different ways in different places. Anyhow, that chinese guy said it before it was in the bible. If I'm wrong, you can prove me wrong if you can and I will apologize. And since you took the time to find that exact phrase from The Bible I think I have all the right to expect you to follow that now. If you treat me like a I'm worth nothing, I shall do the same in return.

And I don't hate Jesus. I don't hate Christianity. I've been brought up in a Christian culture and I think no matter what I believe I should know what's part of my culture. Even if I don't believe in the same thing you do that doesn't change the fact that it's part of my cultural history. And I think my reindeer was given to Santa. Poor me.

It seems to me that you appear to misunderstand what it says. It doesn't say to treat others as they treat you, it says to treat others as you would LIKE them to treat you. You wish to be treated like a princess who can do no wrong, so you must treat us as such. However, we treat others as we wish to be treated. If we were unsaved trash, we would want people to (figuratively) beat the Jesus into us and so that's how we treat unsaved trash.

It's horrible, isn't it, Sister? I mean, this "Nana" (I guess she prefers that name...) doesn't even know that it is also known as the "Golden Rule", which points back at ... Babylon... which is MENTIONED in the Old Covenant - which obviously pre-dates Babylon.

The Bible is an infinite source of wisdom and knowledge. Open your eyes and heart to Jesus and you will see.

One of the most convincing and overwhealming proofs of the existence of God is the nature, including the trees you are having hard time believing to exist. God created them amongst everything else. They were designed, not created by odd chance like the Godless misguided "evollution theory" believers insist.
