I'm a full-time student with an open mind to different things. I used to be a proud libertine back in high school because I lived in an impoverished neighborhood with my mom, but I started to attend church sermons and whatnot and just recently got baptized (after receiving the Holy Ghost ofc) !

Frankly, I hope we can get all along - I've been meandering in this section for the past week and I think you guys are a bit zany and take the word 'extreme' to new heights, but at the same time, you guys really intrigue me and I'd like to know all of you better.

I'm also a liberal and African-American so I hope that revelation won't pose any problems. Oh yeah, my role models on Earth are: Barack Obama, Mahatma Gandhi and Bruce Lee.

Well, I would have opted for Jesus, but what I meant was a living person not like ethereal or whatever. And, there's nothing wrong with admiring people's accomplishments... I know who I am and what I stand for so their religions won't sway me from my connection with the Lord.

I don't vehemently support abortion but I respect the decision to choose it as a solution given the circumstances. I used to live in a bad bad bad neighborhood so I have better idea on what's going on.

Like so many young people today, you are a confused person. Not surprising given the fast paced world you live in. From what I read, you are being pulled in many directions, none of them good. It may feel good because, much like a rope with a knot in the middle and people tugging on each end, you tend to stay in the middle, what appears to be a happy place. In time, one of these demons will win out and the knot will no longer be centered. At this point, you'll probably get all EMO'd and Goth'd out, start cutting yourself and sniffing glue. I have seen it time and time again.
What you need to do is be centered. You need to get right with Jesus. Get to know God, He wants to be your BFF.
But if you do not want to hear it from me, I understand. I am sure the first time a priest asked you for a hand after services in his rectory, you had no idea what you were getting into. So, hear from the Big Cheese, The Man, Numero Uno, God. Read the KJV1611 Bible. Read it all, take your time. Find Gods True Message(r). Realize what He is really all about first hand. If you have questions, please feel free to ask, we have quite a few Bible scholars here as well as some reasonably well informed laypersons such as me.

I know that God is my best friend, which is the reason why I converted to Christianity 2 years ago and decided long ago to never revert to my old perverse ways. I pray every day and night, read the Bible before going to bed, go to Church twice a week, decline invitations to go clubbing with friends/go to binges/etc - all in all, I adhere to the principles of the Bible and apply them in my life as much as humanly possible.

God is not 'lax' or 'lazy'. The Bible is extremely clear on Gods Word® regarding this subject:

Genesis 1:28Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it.
Genesis 9:1Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
Genesis 9:7Be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.

The previouse threee passages leave no doubt.

Genesis 38:9-10And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother. And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also.

Again, pretty self explanatory. Don't you just love passages in the Bible that there is absolutely no way to misunderstand them?

The NLT is NG. Get a KJV.

Actually, it is easy to read and understand the Bible almost all of the time. What God says is what He means. For example:

Samuel 12:14
Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

Speak bad of God, your kid will die. Plain and simple.
