  • Hello

I am a married mother who is currently enrolled in College, and working on a casual basis.
I am here to find out if I am doing the right thing by being in College (I would really like a career as a Nurse) or should I be taking some other courses instead?
I really believe in intellectual growth and am hoping doing so will encourage our children to continue with their education as well.

Your husband is the one you should be talking to about this.

    But while you are here,

    What is your favorite scripture?

How many soldiers for Christ and future mothers have you ejected from yourself?

What has Jesus done lately that has made your day/week/month/year?

How did you come to accept Jesus into your life?

Does your husband know you are here?
    The best way to turn a dishwasher into a snowblower. . . . .
    Give her a shovel.
Proverbs 5:19 A husband's commandment! And wives must comply.
19Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.

        Hello Canadian Mom!
I am only a woman, but I really think you should talk with your husband. I don't understand why you would like to be a nurse, you don't have any American Soldiers to care for in Canada, right?

And when you study you will have less time for your family. In Sweden, where I live, my mom had to educate herself to a teacher so that she could homeschool us! She was very stressed, with 8 children to look after and two homes (we have a summerhouse), and the cows and pigs. And when my sister married she could only rely on her 4 remaining girls to help her. Uh, it was a though period, but now my fathers son don't have to go to public school anymore!

        Yours in Christ
        Elisabeth

Your husband married you before you were trained? Why aren't you taking classes on cooking and cleaning?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

We have American's that move here, some are even in the army, some will visit our bases. However I want to care for the elderly, specially those with dementia.
I also love Palliative as some people have no one with them when they pass away .

So, you value your career more than your faith. Tssk tssk...the Big Man doesn't really like that kind of greed...even when it is disguised as being compassionate. (Older persons also don't enjoy being taken advantage of in this way.)

Having babies, keeping a home neat and tidy and baking is not a career? Who else other than a wife is going to do it??? I hope do not intende to bring an outsider in to attend to YOUR wifely duties!

Oh gosh no! We cannot afford to bring someone in, so I have been trying to train our boys to cook for themselves and clean/pick up after themselves to lessen the load! I thought doing so would help make them more independent and mature!

So should I wait another 5 years for the boys to move out before completing my education for a career? I suppose if I did so then it would only be my husband and I. It would probably be easier on him as well as then he would only have his own meals to cook and only pick up after himself rather than working all day and coming home and taking care of everything until I get home .

                        Re: Hello

My apologies. Another question I need to ask after reading some of the messages is, what is the difference between an Agnostic and an Atheist?

The reason I ask is that my dear husband, though baptised does not go to Church and believes that there is a possibility of a higher power but questions it. On the other hand he does believe that Jesus was a real person and that the Bible is full of history, mixed with myths, metaphores and allorgies.

I suppose I more or less am of the same belief, I would consider myself a very liberal minded Christian who at times loves to question the Bible and loves to read and learn about theology (how and why religions came to be).

As your arthritis prevents you from opening a dictionary, let me help you:

Imagine a man hanging by his fingertips from the roof of a high building. An atheist and an agnostic are on the roof.

The atheist will say, “Huh! There’s no danger, he’s imagining it.” And leave
An agnostic will say, “I’m not too sure there is danger, so I’ll let him do what he wants” and leave.

So it is okay than to be agnostic as we all question God? Yes?
