    Re: GOD PARADOX!!!!!!

The entire question is meaningless and could not have been asked by anybody with the mentality of more than a sixteen year-old.

The asker assumes GOD is bound by human concepts of strength and ability.

If GOD could will a rock into existence (let alone the entire universe), could He not also enable Himself to lift it?

Does He rely solely on muscle fiber to do things, or does He command the very fabric of nature with His voice?

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. - Genesis 1:3

Can GOD create a sun so bright He cannot look at it?

    No.

Does His lack of this weakness make Him less than all-powerful?

    No.

Any idiot should be able to understand that a lack of weakness is not a weakness.

    Almost any idiot, anyway.

      Re: GOD PARADOX!!!!!!

Denying the existence of God is not unbelief but an exercise in self-deception. You may know things, but you cannot account for anything you know. Arguing against God's existence would be on par with arguing against the existence of air, breathing it all the while. You use the universal, immaterial, unchanging laws of logic, mathematics, science, and absolute morality in order to come to rational decisions, but you cannot account for them. These laws are not the only way God has revealed himself to you, but they are sufficient to show the irrationality of your thinking, and expose your guilt for denying Him.

There is a reason that you deny the existence of God and it has nothing to do with proof. I can show this to you. Do you think that you can continue to deny God because surely somewhere, sometime, a philosopher or scientist will come up with an explanation for universal, immaterial, unchanging laws apart from God?' Did you ever try to come up with an alternate explanation on your own?

Hoping that an alternate explanation for universal, immaterial, unchanging laws can someday be found apart from God, is a blind leap of faith, or wishful thinking. Isn't it interesting that this is exactly what professed unbelievers accuse Christians of?

Please examine the real reason why you are running from God. It is my prayer that God will open your eyes and change your heart so that you may be saved from your sin, embraced by His ferocious love, and that you will tithe robustly immediately to God's favorite church.

Do you mean something like :

To believe that something is or isn't true, one must have criteria on which to decide as well as evidence to back up the criteria. In addition one must have confidence and knowledge that the criteria chosen are satisfactory.

Like Hume, who assumed what he set out to prove, there is circular reasoning in some of the arguments for God's non-existence. It is a belief pure and simple, and this is a definite choice people make. The fact that it is necessary to do so, for whatever reason, indicates that disbelief in God or gods is not the normal position of mankind as almost universal history testifies.

Many equate non belief in God or gods with non belief in mythical creatures which the majority of people also do not believe because universal experience is against such myths. Non belief in God is actually quite different, since there have been many in the past and are still today who testify that they know God, and that He has changed their lives. People are still today, possibly more so willing to die, not for a lie, but for what they personally know to be true. It must be made clear that the reference is being made to personal suffering under persecution, not those who die and in the process take as many others with them, as possible.

So, it is not necessary to have gone to the moon to believe that it happened. To deny it, as some do, is akin to distrusting a whole bunch of evidence as well as having a massive belief in conspiracy theories. If God does not exist and the Bible is therefore hogwash, as some would effectively assert, then over 5000 individual pieces of evidence confirming the Bible, together with it's assertions about God, have to be denied or explained away. These pieces of evidence are sitting in museums around the world. Just like the silent testimony of the moon rocks they refute the assumptions that something is wrong or untrue, when what is demonstrated is that this is a belief against all the evidence.

So, effectively, the answer is no. To believe that God doesn't exist you are making a choice, a belief, using whatever criteria is chosen to eliminate the hard evidence that He does.

You are using the reasoning of a man. Have you ever read God's reasoning? Isaiah 55:8-9 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are my ways higher than your ways, And my thoughts than your thoughts."

2 Peter 1:20 "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation."
