    Re: Well, hi!!

And BTW James.....there's no E at the end of Eskimo.
There's this tool, it's called a spell check, maybe you've heard of it??
It's useful to people, like yourself, who can't spell.

He didn't say she lived at the north pole, or that she lived in Alaska. He said she was an Eskimo. And golly gee, there are Eskimos in Canada:
Eskimos (or Esquimaux) or Inuit–Yupik (for Alaska: Inupiat–Yupik) peoples are indigenous peoples who have traditionally inhabited the circumpolar region from eastern Siberia (Russia), across Alaska (United States), Canada, and Greenland.
And they live both above and below the Arctic Circle.

As for "winter with no sun", apparently you need to study up on that, as well.

The midnight sun is a natural phenomenon occurring in summer months at latitudes north and nearby to the south of the Arctic Circle, and south and nearby to the north of the Antarctic Circle where the sun remains visible at the local midnight. Given fair weather, the sun is visible for a continuous 24 hours, mostly north of the Arctic Circle and south of the Antarctic Circle. The number of days per year with potential midnight sun increases the farther poleward one goes from the equator. Although approximately defined by the polar circles, in practice midnight sun can be seen as much as 90 km beyond the polar circle

        ...

The opposite phenomenon, polar night, occurs in winter when the sun stays below the horizon throughout the day.
        Polar night, you say?

A common misconception is that the shortest day is totally dark at each point where the midnight sun occurs inside the polar circle. In places very close to the poles this is true, but in regions that are located at the inner border of the polar circles where the midnight sun is experienced, this is not the case. Because of twilight, these regions experience polar twilight instead of the polar night. In fact, polar regions typically get more twilight throughout the year than equatorial regions.

For regions inside the polar circles, the lengths of the time when the sun is below the horizon varies from 20 hours at the Arctic Circle and Antarctic Circleto 179 days at the Poles.
It took me less than 5 minutes to Google this information for you, proving your insulting rant against James to be entirely, 100% incorrect.

Who is it that needs to open a geography book, Sparky?

        Yeah, that'd be you.
