I happen to have a sermon on the subject HERE.

Boy, you sound like Bill Clinton saying something depends on what your definition of "is" is.

Relativity is on dubious enough ground when it comes to physics; it has no place in morality.

Moreover, God didn't command us to sit around stroking ourselves while interpreting his laws; He commanded us to obey His laws.

Surprised? I think the good Captain Portway rounded up the majority feeling pretty well.

You've obviously never been to San Francisco.

People should be happy with themselves instead of trying to make themselves into what they think everyone wants them to be.
How can you be happy with yourself, knowing that when God looks at you, what He sees is not pleasing to Him? You should try with every fabric of your being to make yourself into what God wants you to be.

To the Lord's Sword... no, I will not follow any instructions from a husband.
Well then what's the point of even having a husband if you're not going to follow his instructions? That's about as smart as pouring yourself a glass of milk and then not drinking it.

First of all, I'm too young to get married and most likely won't until I have completed college and have a job.
You're 17, right? That is to say, you have already gone through puberty, haven't you? Well then what's the holdup? You're not going to be fertile forever, you know.

This is my body and my mind, and I will use them as I see fit.
Wrong again. Your body and mind are the property of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. The sooner you acknowledge this fact and stop misusing the Lord's belongings, the better off we'll all be.

It should be noted that your literal interpretation without simile was also very, very poor. Satan takes many forms, and should he wish to take the form of a roaring lion to devour what lay in his path, I'm not sure why you would think he couldn't. Or that it somehow applies to all lions. What a preposterous notion.

Well, of course I use 'like' in that sense as well. Though not the second one, I don't think anyone likes sodomy. I just figured that would be a given, considering that's one of the main uses for the word 'like'. I guess I was too vague.
I am not visiting a cosmetic surgery clinic. People should be happy with themselves instead of trying to make themselves into what they think everyone wants them to be. And I'd never get the money for such a procedure anyway.
Faith, thank you, but I prefer keeping my artistic talent just as a hobby. It's something I do for fun, not any sort of profit. I draw something for fun, and I mean actually draw it, not throw together something on a website. Then I may share it on my deviantART account with other people who I think will enjoy it. I aim to make people smile and laugh, that's it. Same for my stories, I always love to hear that someone enjoyed reading it.
As for being smart... I'm not really that smart. I just pay attention in school and do my work. Everyone acts like that makes me a genius, even though they could be just as 'smart' if they just do what they're supposed to instead of sleeping or texting their boyfriends. I don't stand out in a crowd or anything... I just talk a lot and use too much description.
Which I'm sorry for, I don't mean to write such long posts. It just kinda happens.
To the Lord's Sword... no, I will not follow any instructions from a husband. First of all, I'm too young to get married and most likely won't until I have completed college and have a job. Second of all, I am too independent to allow anyone to control my life. This is my body and my mind, and I will use them as I see fit. I'm mature enough to make my own decisions in life, thank you.

Metaphor: His eyes were flaming rubies in the dark.
See? In the metaphor, it's not literally saying the mystery guy's eyes are rubies on fire... it's just comparing them without using like or as. A normal part of the English language, I assure you. I'm a writer, I use metaphors all the time.
You're a writer and you can't properly construct a paragraph? I see a future of living in a shopping cart in your near future.

A simile can be taken literally. A metaphor can't. A simile directly compares two completely different things in the sentence itself. Had you bothered to read and understand what I wrote to you, I wouldn't have had to read your nonsense and continue to explain myself.

Have you read the Bible from cover to cover yet? If not, why are you still here? Surely it's not to have a non-writer explain to you the "finer" points of writing. Is it?

I know you're just itching to accept Jesus into your heart, you just can't admit it. Sometimes it takes time, but you really need to start by reading the Bible from front to end if you expect to ascend to Heaven on Judgment day.

Because I don't want to waste more precious bandwidth, I'm sure your next question is "but I thought we were taking this literally?"

For which I reply: If it had used the word "like" instead of "as", would you still be asking this incredibly idiotic question? I know how you teenage girls enjoy spouting the word "like" fifteen times for every "idea" expressed. I use that term loosely.
Please stop cluttering up these boards with this kind of nonsensical trash. I'd really rather not spend my time looking at a drawing of a tranny speaking french.

Oh, I'm sorry Faith, but you did make a direct comment to me about being as flat-chested as I am in the comic. Of course I responded to your assertion. It's just a stick figure, it's not supposed to be detailed. Anyway, the point of the comic is to show what this website is like to my friends. Ever heard of a Rage Comic? They're very fun to make. The 'le' is a normal part of these comics. The rest is in normal English. There wasn't a single other French word to be found in that thing.
And I'm not your typical girl. I don't use 'like' when I speak unless making a comparison. It's stupid. I'm not some scene girl prancing around in skinny jeans. Ugh, I don't even associate with girls like that.
