  • A New Challenger Has Appeared...

My first initial is J. That's all you need to know about that. I am a lonely crusader for justice with God to protect me, Jesus to clear my path and the Holy Spirit to lead me. I seek not to flame anyone here, but rather to present a different point of view, one that is consistent with scripture. Words have many shades of meaning. A single mistake in interpretation can have drastic effects. I will not attack, but simply calmly explain an alternate viewpoint.

    A Little About Me

First and foremost, I am a Christian. I gave my life to Christ about a year ago, and He has done many great things in me. I have Asperger's Syndrome. That being said, I am not retarded. In fact, my IQ is approximately 140 putting me in the top 1% of the world. I am not conceited over that, I just don't want people getting the wrong impression.

My Favorite Verse: John 9:3 "Jesus answered, 'Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous.--Lev.21:18

      Two requests:

      1. Please point out to me in the Bible where it says "words have many shades of meaning" (or an unmistakable equivalent).

      2. Please tell me how your claim that a "single mistake in interpretation" can be reconciled with 2 Peter 1:20.

I'm sure that your 140 IQ will make this an easy assignment!

You can't be a Christian. No retard is able to understand God's Majesty. I've read up on the subject.

I'm afraid you just made quite a misinterpretation right there. 2 Peter 1:20 does not mean that there is only one proper interpretation of scripture. Rather, it means that no prophesy in scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. That verse has been taken out of context, my friend.

Why would the basic instructions of God Himself be more difficult to interpret than, say, Tom Sawyer? Are you saying God is some sort of retard?

Brother Zechariah asked you a simple question. Why can't you just answer it instead of pretending to know how he understands scripture?

I told you already I'm probably smarter than most people posting here. My IQ is around 140, after all.

By the way, 2 Peter 1:20 has absolutely nothing to do with the argument it is being used for

That IQ doesn't prove you're not a retarded. Did the doctors tell you that?

God hates retardeds. You can read about it all over this forum, as well as in His Holy Word.

You've said that already. Are you one of those retardeds who repeat themselves over and over again? Because that gets annoying fast.

It is perfectly in context. Peter writes that the words of the Bible are not the author's own private interpretation, but God's.

You sure jumped in with the context argument early and often. I suspect that's all we'll get from you, though.

for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

So if the Bible has errors, you are saying that God is in error.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.
