The Bible is split up into bite-sized chunks, called verses. The longest verse in the Bible is Esther 8:9, at 81 words. If you can handle that, there shouldn't be a problem (aside from narcolepsy induced by all the friggin' "begat"s [that you really can just bloop over]).

66 books, one a day (even split up into multiple sessions, take a break now and then), and you'll be done in a little over two months. Taken to an extreme of only one verse per day might be a problem as 31,173 verses done one per day would take just over 85 years, and Jesus could well kill you before then.

He is a dangerous atheist, Thomas. I believe that he has read the Bible, and uses it in a perverse and degenerate way to trap unwary Christians. He never succeeds in trapping True Christians(tm), though. Jesus guides our minds as well as our souls.

Yes, but please do not capitalize it (unless it's the first word of a sentence, or part of the name of a group like American Atheists). It's not a proper noun.

Brother V has an entire subforum here dedicated to helping people to understand what they've read in the Bible. Very useful (but if he doesn't get off his lazy True Christian™ ass and finish it, I might just help ).

So what you're saying is that I have less chance than the guy locked away in death row for multiple murders (because he hath repent) in going to heaven? God truly is cruel.

Also, this goes directly against what another member said. I do not understand why you use the fire and brimstone stuff when Matthew was actually making me think by being a nice person.

Mr. Hopkins is indeed a very lovely and nice person, as we all are. You'll see if you give us a chance. You see, we're so nice that we take the time out of our very busy lives to bring the Gospel Message to unsaved souls such as yourself, people who have been erroneously taught that by being a "good person," or that believing Jesus loves them is enough to warrant an invitation into Heaven. The truth is, this couldn't be farther from the Truth! But how would you know if nobody told you? In reality, the good LORD Himself tells us the only way to get to Heaven is to accept Him as your LORD and Master: accept the gift of faith 100%, and be obedient unto His every desire. The only other option is Eternal Damnation.

Honestly, with the Pastors being as rude as they are, I'm beginning to lose interest in even returning tomorrow. I will read the King James Bible but I may not return to these forums because I can see that they are led by some very rude individuals. Again Mr Hopkins, I sincerely apologize for what I have done.

Hello, my name is Thomas and I come from a little country called England where we are brought up with values that tell us to respect not only our Elders but in fact every single person we meet.

You are also taught to disrespect God. (You know, the guy who created you.) We don't care if you respect people, though that would be nice. You give God the finger by continuing to sin. That is disrespecting Him and His word. That is the number one thing that matters.

I do not eat meat or fish as I believe that A) Raising a creature just to eat it is cruel and Most of the time, the environment they are raised in is awful. I would not wish anyone such a discomfort as to live in one of those chicken pens where they live in their own excrement.

First of all, God gave us the dominion over animals. Read The Bible and learn something. Also, animals don't feel anything, you filthy hippie. Lastly, Jesus ate fish. Are you calling our Lord and Savior a cruel human being?

However, I have looked at various threads in this forum and certain things are starting to irk me. Often, members of this board use 'retardation' as an insult. I have to ask, if you were born with a disability and people took the piss out of you, how would you feel? Sinful? If so, you're daft. I cannot stand when people use such words in a derogatory way. I work with people who have learning disabilities and I can tell you that their lives can be extremely difficult. It is mere ignorance to use 'retardation' as an insult.
