Whenever the missionaries came for visiting and teaching me, I sent my girl friend into the kitchen, while I was sitting in the living room comfortably talking with them about the Lord's revelations and other important questions and reading together in the Book of Mormon.

My girl friend only attended the meetings by serving some snacks and a Cola for the missionaries and me. No chance for the missis to get into closer relation with my girl friend. I might be stupid, but I'm not silly, ye know?

Thanks for the certainly well meant advise. Maybe the show's portrayal of Mormons is spot on, but does it also correspond to the truth...? As I'm looking for the truth I wouldn't like mockery or mocking about the Mormons. Perhaps I'm already too far in it since I've been studying their doctrine for years. It's solely thanks to them for bringing one like me back to faith.

A show's portrayal being spot on is the same as its corresponding to the truth. In this case, that says nothing about the veracity of Joseph Smith's claims.

For that we need to turn to history. Now sure, we know there was someone called Joseph Smith and that he produced a crock of garbage labelled as a religious belief syttem. That's historical fact. But the lies he told are just that. Lies. One way to demonstrate that would be by a molecular DNA analysis comparing Amerindians with Israelites. Have you done such an analysis?

I will include this brief introduction which although presented in a lighthearted graphics format is historically accurate.

The fact that a deceitful and libidinous wretch can be shown to have existed and to have operated a gargantuan extortion racket with Brigham Young during the 19th century in no way confirms that there were any magic apparitions or fancy gold plates. The Pastors will be able to arrange for you to set up a tithing plan in the most tax-efficient way for your area. You will then be helping Jesus to minister directly, targeted where there is real need and not wasted on over-ornate "cathedrals" or über-gauche gold statues of devils masquerading as trumpet pumpers.

Okay - to be honest, and as half a Mormon and half a good man I should never lie, the missionaries haven't visited me for ages and left Hamburg in January this year. Since then I must wash the dishes and switch on the washing machine by myself. Does this answer your question a little?

Yes, the Book of Abraham might be one of those scriptures or documents of which the Mormons even themselves in my opinion wished it had never been written or published. Unfortunately it has. For many Mormons Joseph Smith is a fallen prophet, and don't forget there are approx. 70 denominations belonging to the Mormon movement in the US, not only the LDS, and for example the Community of Christ (CofChrist) , the second largest community of Mormon movement, regard the BoM only as an inspired document revealing the wealth of the Gospel.

Okay - let's see it this way: The Bible was written and completed centuries ago, you agree? How do we know haw many angels are there in Heaven or what all their names are? and maybe at the time when the Bible was written an angel named Moroni wasn't born yet? Or he didn't have anything to say to mankind or to the prophets. He was still a young angel just having a good time and later when he grew up he decided to reveal young Joseph the secret of the Golden Plates.

Yea! The KJV Bible is certainly spot on and true and reliable, and I'm so glad to be here among all you wise and divinely inspired people and mighty pastores. But the Bible is old, isn't it? And Moroni certainly is not an old angel, but a modern one with a with a modern (Jazz ...?) trumpet in his hands. And who will know about the following generations of angels, who perhaps will appear with guitars or even with machine guns instead, if they one day might be rid of all those ignorant and narrow-minded disciples on earth?
