True, but we are not famous for it (toothless drunks) like you are. We are famous for creating mass production and the industrial age, which with leaps and bounds, accelerated the quality of life and standard of living for all mankind, even heathens like your people. We are only famous for it because people perpetuated untrue stereotypes. That does not make them fact, quite the opposite.

I think you'll find that Britain and Scotland was at the forefront of the industrial revolution, just as much as the US, probably even more so.

As for the other poster who sounds like a West of Scotlander, 'Didnae' and that sort of thing are just slang, in the same way that words like 'y'all' are in the States. I would never claim that this makes you toothless.

I'll break it down point by point: While there may be some ugly people, this is not a national characteristic, the same with 'stinky' people just like it isn't in the USA; as i've explained before, yes, we wear kilts for very scecial occasions (graduation etc), but this isn't what we wear usually. We dress in the same way to you guys, our teeth are just fine; We have very good healthcare in this country, and that includes our teeth.

God makes it pretty clear that cross dressing is a sin.

We clearly don't live in caves, because we have electricity (as is evident by me using this forum), we also have pure running water, and incest is illegal and not practiced.

Do you claim that the 'stereotype' is baseless and entirely made up? If so, why? I have met many scotch (I worked in NYC for close to 30 years) and I make my statements based on the people I have met. For example (and I am sure you can back this up) I have never met a nigra that was not a good tap dancer.

The brits and scotch at the forefront? Please. Your claim to fame was incredible pollution. It was our industrialists (like Henry Ford, Fulton, Edison) that took europe out of the soot encrusted black ages.

"Y'all" is not a slang word. Few, if any, use it in written text. The few that do are feebly attempting to make their writing appear to be 'dialectally correct' though it often falls flat.

Well it isn't an accurate description. Tell me, on what do you base your judgement? Because it certainly isn't from experience. As I explained in the post you quoted, I live in Scotland, and showed you how none of that was true.

Wearing a kilt isn't cross-dressing. It's a piece of male clothing.

I suppose I did suggest you can't get electricity in caves, which isn't correct, but to clean it up, i'll explain that we don't live in caves. We live in houses, like you.

It's not baseless, obviously people in Scotland do get drunk from time to time, but that#s just like everybody else. There are lots of legal restrictions on drinking in Scotland nowadays, much moreso than in America, but I don't go about calling you drunks. You can't claim to have more experience of Scottish people than I do. I don't care if you worked in NYC, I LIVE IN SCOTLAND. My experience trumps yours.

Ford, Fulton and Edison? We had Brunel, Arkwright, Trevithick and the man who produced the first prototype for the steam locomotive - a Scot - William Murdoch. Guess what? Decades before the people you listed!
