You want some Scottish inventions that are relevent today. How about penicillin, the MRI scanner, Ultrasound, fingerprinting, the hypodermic syringe, insulin, the refrigerator, the flushing toilet, colour photography, the telephone, the television, radar, the fax machine, the wave-powered electricity generator, the crane, the tyre. This is just all I can remember, the tip of the iceberg.

Your country didn't invent any of those things. Sober up and get back to us when you don't have delusions of grandeur anymore.

Well maybe instead of sitting on your butts looking at a 200 year old invention saying "look how great we once were" you could actually try to do something that is relevant to modern society. Anyway, do you think that somebody else wouldn't of invented it? After all, it was a Brit who invented the steam engine, which was the real importance of the industrial revolution. The steam locomotive was just one use of the tool.



Tell me, is this a valid defense in Scotland? Can you tell a judge that it's okay that you were drunk in public because everyone else is?

Until the Germans invented the automobile. But the revolution did not truly begin until mass production. Key to this was interchangeable parts. Another American solution

I have see the soap commercials. All they want is American husbands, ones that do not come home drunk every night from the coal mines or potato fields.

It's not baseless, obviously people in Scotland do get drunk from time to time, but that#s just like everybody else. There are lots of legal restrictions on drinking in Scotland nowadays, much moreso than in America, but I don't go about calling you drunks. You can't claim to have more experience of Scottish people than I do. I don't care if you worked in NYC, I LIVE IN SCOTLAND. My experience trumps yours.

Ford, Fulton and Edison? We had Brunel, Arkwright, Trevithick and the man who produced the first prototype for the steam locomotive - a Scot - William Murdoch. Guess what? Decades before the people you listed!
