But you just said that God wrote the bible. So God does not claim to be God? If he doesn't believe it, why should I?

God wrote the Bible, but He had men act as secretaries, taking down notes as he dictated. I meant that those secretaries never claimed to be God, just messengers of God. Quite a difference.

And now a case that actually happened in our time. Because, if it did not make this clear, I do not believe everything that is told in the bible.

STOP talking about proof! The Bible doesn't say anything about PROOF! In fact, when people asked Jesus for signs, He got angry at them! YOU NEED FAITH! You just have to believe! BELIEVE! BELIEVE! BELIEVE!

Now you finally make sense. In the end, it comes down to beliefs. You believe that your God shaped this world and controls it, and all the actions of men.
I believe in something different, and the last week this belief has become stronger and stronger. I believe in the goodness of humanity. Yes, what happened one week ago is something terrible. You believe it was an act of God, because that way, that what happened made sense to you. You use your belief to understand this world.
I do the same. I believe in science. I believe that every action has a history to it that makes it understandable. By that I do not mean that I approve of what happened, only that this man should be pittied too, because he believed that his action was nessecary.
I use science the same way you use God. I believe that answers can be found there, that will help me understand everything that is going around in the world. That is how the human mind works. It tries to make sense of everything around him by searching for things that make sense to it.

But more importantly, I believe that I am living my life in a good way. I enjoy the things I do, I try to help those who need me as good as possible, I spent my time with the ones I love. Talking with you guys even made me realize that I should focus at what I do have, that at what I do not have. And by being good to people, those people will more likely be good to others. In the end, and that is what all those people showed in the past weeks, there may have been one man that was crazy to kill those people, but there were thousands who symphatized and said: "what has happened is wrong". One bad man versus thousands of good men, that seems hopeful to me.

It saddens me that you cannot see the point I was making. The way you hurt the feelings of people who do not follow your beliefs, not accepting that your beliefs aren't the beliefs of others. I truly pity you, but I do hope that life may bring to you what you expect of it. Now for me, it is time to move back to my life, and enjoy the things I have.
