    Boomerang works in space: Japanese astronaut

    OK whats the point. Its all good if there are animals running around in the cold darkness of space. But throwing a lump of bent wood made by abos in space just does not make sense. Like if the headline read Boomerang works in space: Japanese astronaut throws boomerang and comes back and cracks his skull open. Now that would have been worth the news.


    In an unprecedented experiment, a Japanese astronaut has thrown a boomerang in space and confirmed it flies back much like on Earth.
    Astronaut Takao Doi "threw a boomerang and saw it come back" during his free time on March 18 at the International Space Station, a spokeswoman at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency said on Friday.
    Doi threw the boomerang after a request from compatriot Yasuhiro Togai, a world boomerang champion.
    "I was very surprised and moved to see that it flew the same way it does on Earth," the Mainichi Shimbun daily quoted the 53-year-old astronaut as telling his wife in a chat from space.
    The space agency said a videotape of the experiment would likely be released later.
    Doi travelled on US shuttle Endeavour on the March 11 blast-off and successfully delivered the first piece of a Japanese laboratory to the International Space Station.

    This is hilarious to me because for so many years we've heard this useless drivel about how "space is a vacuum" and "there is no air in space". Maybe now they'll start coming around! How can a boomerang fly without air?

      And another point here is what made the boomerang come back to him. It needs air to lift the angle of it to push it so as to come back.

          This is the very reason why Godly Americans have never used Boomerangs.

            It's hard to believe that they would allow a boomerang on the space station. Do you think they threw it inside the station where the air is thicker? Good thing it didn't break any windows off or sever any digits. Maybe they were testing the effect of gravity on the boomerang.

              Shouldn't astronauts be doing WORK instead of playing around?

              How does this experiment benefit Jesus?

                Amen!! My thoughts exactly. The whole thing seems like an enormous waste of taxpayer money. All they do is lolligag around up there playing games and drinking Tang©. With foreigners too!

                I have yet to hear about any astronaughts praying in space. That's an experiment I'd like to see. Being that much closer to God, does it take less time for the prayer to reach Him?

                  I'd like to see some real proof that any of these so-called "astronauts" have been anywhere near "space". And I don't mean the same tired old photos put together by atheisn't special effects artists in Hellyweird. I mean real proof, like an angel's feather or the autograph of a deceased True Christian(tm). Maybe then I'll be convinced that men are being shot into the heavens on enormous rockets.

                    Such enormous rockets have such an odd effect on me. Something about it just makes me feel....funny. I suspect the Holy Ghost is telling me something here.
