Online video tip leads to Middletown man's arrest
Authorities: multiple child porn images found on computer
FREEHOLD --A Middletown man who bragged about being a pedophile in a video posted to the popular YouTube.com Web site was arrested Thursday on a charge of child endangerment.
The arrest of Gary Wolchesky of Ironwood Court came just two days after his 21st birthday. He is charged with one count of fourth-degree endangering the welfare of a child following a joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and Middletown police. Authorities said they found on his computer multiple images of children under 16 engaged in sexual acts.
According to a profile for Wolchesky on YouTube.com, he listed various aliases, user names and profile names — PEDOTeenTech, GaryGodx, MyIDisPhat, MyIDisCool, TeenTech or Genetic Supremacy — he is known as on different Internet sites. He listed himself as a 2007 graduate of Keyport High School, and said he was fired by Wal-Mart and uses YouTube and XBoxLive online to search for his intended victims.
Wolchesky became the target of the investigation after police were tipped off to a video on the YouTube Web site. That video has since been taken down, prosecutors said.
An initial forensic examination of Wolchesky's home computer yielded a significant number of images leading to his arrest Thursday.
Wolchesky was being held in the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of $100,000 bail. As a condition of bail, Wolchesky is barred from using the Internet, interactive gaming consoles and having contact with any minors.
