Re: Strangers in Town
Describing them merely as "canadians" just leaves me cold.
Why didn't the investigating officer look closer to see if they were "french" canadians?
Now, your average Manitoban would be acceptable under most circumstances, but those Quebecois can be pretty scary.
Maybe they were trying to smuggle in some truffles, or worse yet, snails. And why didn't the officer do an on-site strip search to see if the woman shaved her armpits (a dead giveaway of frenchness).
I'm going to contact the police chief and see if he will turn Officer Don Richards loose for a reinvestigation of this case. The Honorable HTannor (Pro NRA, Anti-Homer Marriage), Judge, Freehold Supreme Court

Re: Strangers in Town
All I know is Ofc. Richards would not accept the excuse there were 'just canadians'.
He would of cuffed them, taken them downtown, preaching to them to make them understand they cannot walk down American streets just as pretty as you please without repercussions.
Flashlights indeed! Evening stroll, sure and I am the Easter bunny! More likely casing the homes of the Godly.
Brother HTannor, the idea they may of been 'french canadians' sends chills down my spine, especially during this holiest of holidays.Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Re: Strangers in Town
God called strangers "strangers" for a reason: they are stranger than us. The price of security is eternal vigilance.
I would be surprised if they were French Canadians; all the signposts and road signs round here are in American - they'd never find us. But I would appreciate it if you kept an eye out for anyone who may have, misguidedly, put up a "Landover Eglise Baptiste" sign*.
That said, the days when a Canadian at 100 yards was difficult to spot are long past; the Canux have imported weirdos from all over the world, most of whom are bent on the destruction of capitalism and The American Way of Life.
