Today I was perusing through the world wide web and I came upon a story from the unGodly Huffington Post. I don't ever read HP, but this caught my eye. Apparently, the chairman of the Republican Party, Michael Steele, is being persecuted for allegedly spending thousands of dollars in a West Hollywood nightclub that features women engaging in sado-masochistic lesbian acts with one another.

I highly doubt that Mr. Steele was there to watch the women wallow in their own sin. He was probably there for the excellent filet mignon and cognac. I say this because I have frequented this club numerous times. When I was living in LA, I first went there on an evangelical mission to save young women who were living the pornographic/sex worker lifestyle. But, I found myself coming back every weekend, almost compulsively, because of the delicious food and attentive service. (If you go, make sure Cheyenne or Porsche serve you. Tell 'em Rev. Jim sends his love.) No doubt, Mr. Steele was there probably to enjoy a cigar and some brandy and now the liberal hypocrites are lambasting him for it.

Once on the ground, FEC filings suggest, Steele travels in style. A February RNC trip to California, for example, included a $9,099 stop at the Beverly Hills Hotel, $6,596 dropped at the nearby Four Seasons, and $1,620.71 spent [update: the amount is actually $1,946.25] at Voyeur West Hollywood, a bondage-themed nightclub featuring topless women dancers imitating lesbian sex.

Of course he would travel in style! He is the chairman of the GOP! What, did they expect him to stay in a Motel 6 and have dinner at Denny's like some low-life scum?

Besides, that is mere pocket change. When I stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel I don't spend less than $30,000 -- ever. If anything, people should be commending him for being so frugal with campaign donations. It shows he has the people's best interests at heart.

So let's all pray for Michael Steele who is being unjustly persecuted by the liberal media who wants to bring a good man down.

Great point, WWJD. I mean what do we REALLY know about this entire matter. Money was spent on strip club, yes. But, what was the real purpose?

Maybe it was to convert strippers to Christ. Or, maybe it was to convert strippers to be Republicans. Neither of these should be considered a waste of our Party's money.

And I do similar work as well on the weekends here in Seattle or at times Chicago: I go out to the Queer Clubs like The Cuff, Madison Pub, or Purr and save athletically built men for Jesus. I have spent many a night on my knees praying with the hard spirit of the fruits of my labor running through me, but deep, deep inside I know it's worth it.

Since my company owns the strip club that Mr Steele attended (actually, it's a chain of strip clubs, kind of like McDonald's - we call it "McTits"), I object to this characterization that anything immoral takes place in our business establishments.

On the contrary, we provide a clean, safe and wholesome working environment for our young female employees, keeping them securely locked up at night. We will continue to provide this close Christian supervision until they've paid off their (ever growing) debts, or lose their good looks, after which no doubt US immigration authorities will deport them back to eastern Europe, the Philippines and wherever else we recruited them with our advertised offers to "work and study in the USA."

I see absolutely no reason to object to Mr Steele spending the Republican Party's funds in this manner. After all, "entertainment expenses" are tax deductible. There is no doubt that God would approve.

Absolutely, Brother Montague, you truly understand "trickle-down" economics. Aside from increasing sales of breast implants, makeup and condoms, our strippers support the market for "medications" which we give them to relieve the stress of their jobs and prevent them from running away. I don't know why everyone keeps talking about legalizing "medical marijuana" when the really big market is "medical heroin." I should add that in our factories, "medical amphetamines" help to keep our employees energetic, a necessity when they're working 18-hour shifts, yet some people want this to be illegal.

Sounds to me that Michael Steele is being wrongly accused of crimes he didn't commit. Liberals come up with all kinds of kooky debauchery. When will this ever end?

Ah, $7 million is really chump change. If you're hiding less than $10-15 million from the FEC/IRS/government, then it's really no big deal. Heck, the government would use that $7 million to buy a single hammer, so where's the crime?

Still, us Republicans need to blame ourselves for promoting a shoe-shiner to such a high position. It wouldn't surprise me if that $7 million was mostly spent on Hennessy and Air Jordans.
