Re: Is Dubstep music okay for Christians?

Joshua: personally i enjoy Dubstep. not all of it is just noise, and i will quickly point out the ones that are good and have talent and the ones that aren't and don't. most of "The Fat Rat" (weird name i know) works are pretty good. note how i say "most"

Hunter: Not a music guy like Joshua. if it sounds good then i listen to it.

Yes. It is. Just like every other type of music, there is NOTHING wrong with listening to it.

Thanks for your opinion. As you've offered it unsolicited, anonymously, and completely unsupported, it will be accorded all due respect: none.

What, even this? It's a sort of proto-dubstep if you listen carefully..

I just think that all types of music are OK to listen to, regardless of religion.

Well, God gaves us a free will.

There is no such verse as "Thou shalt not listen to Dubstep". And nobody on this sick world understands the Holy Bible the way they should. Most true Christians still believe the earth was a Globe. Of course ALL true Christians believe that the formula for salvation is: Jesus plus nothing equals everything.

"I just think that all types of music are OK to listen to, regardless of religion."
Girl, so do I, but true Christians are in the Body of Christ, not in any religion.

PS: is there a proof for Jesus having long hair?PPS: A bit hypocritical that this forum loves hellywood actor Kirk Cameron

I do not hate Kirk Cameron, God forbid. But sadly he teaches another Gospel which is not another.

Has this freak gone tone deaf?? And even if he had, the sheet music alone would show which finger to press against what note. What note? Might as well have played the cuckoo song! But the dubstep encourages activities condemned in The Bible.

Or more probably is derived from them. Do people still listen to dubstep?

Whatever you listen to, if you want to sing it, check out the music available and sing those notes. Like this:

..but then you'd need to be able to sing on the note.

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. (Matthew 12:34)

Dubstep music is definitely not OK from muslims. But we are not muslims, we are Christians. Allah hates music, the true and only God loves music. Remember a Christian dubstep song, brethren, why not?
Ecclesiastes 5:3b "A fool's voice is known by multitude of words."

I'm guessing you intend "muslims" as the indirect object in your sentence in which case I'd agree. Dubstep music is definitely not OK. Its actual source is irrelevant. The verb "to be" is unique however and so regardless of whether there is any such thing as muslim dubstep (I've already commented on that linked back there if you're interested) and indeed, we are not muslims so how can anything from them (the dubstep in your example) exist in a Christian form? It cannot. In the context of your post, then, "a Christian dubstep song" would be oxymormonic.

And indeed, no-one yet has ever managed to find such a thing. What does The Bible teach us?
Nahum 2:10 She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.

Characteristic of anyone within range of a dubstep event, yes, but God was describing a people dissipated to the utmost degree. Ruination was upon them just as today we see ruination heralded by melting hearts, smiting knees and pain in all the loins. Imagine two brothers' wives, perhaps rescued from Godlessness. One becoming intrigued whether there's "a Christian dubstep song" out there (there isn't) and even went looking for it? The other appreciating an opportunity for her children to be instructed in The Truth remained with her Husband's family, even though a night on the razzle was possible. Or nights.
Ruth 1:15-16 Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law. And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.

Like Ruth we know that fulfilment does not lie in dubstep land. Trollop is about as good as it gets there and I won't elaborate on its lower castes but can that raucous din drown out the shame so deep within? No. That's why it's so loud. Ruth however was obedient and, since the harvest was going on, went down to assist.

                        Ruth 2:3 – 4:17

The result of that was King David: Ruth's son was David's grandfather. I have no idea what happened to her sister-in-law but in this thread you can read some of the confusion resulting from not taking The Bible at face value and Pastor has linked to the following chart where origins and outcomes are discussed.

The ancient equivalent of dubstep must have been just as dreadful as what we have today and none of it led anywhere beneficial. It is not necessary for Christians to reject the dub per se because no Christian would ever consider it in the first place. Hence we know that no such thing as "a Christian dubstep song" exists at all. If you think you've found one, you're mistaken. I hope that is helpful.
