Can't they look on the bright side for once and just be grateful that this will put out any remaining smoldering bits among the ruins? This is so true, dear Sister Joanna! And they should just leave that plastic sheeting up there for good and forget about any other type of ceiling. But will they do that? No. They will insist on putting more stones up there, trying to fill in those gaping holes. Can you imagine those Frenchie fools trying to cement those rocks in place when the rest of the ceiling is sagging? Who on Earth puts up a stone ceiling in the first place? It seems that for the time being they are putting tarpaulins over it, but they have a more cunning plan for the future.

The covering will only be temporary, with plans to replace it with a more sturdy protective “umbrella”

I like the idea of this: Les Parapluies de Notre Dame would make a terrific art installation, or even a musical comedy.

Probably an allusion to the Biblical fact that God does not hear the prayers of sinners, so your expression of hope above is futile.


Btw: as an atheist taxpayer, I heartily endorse your idea to let God take care of His own damaged building! Let that billion+ dollars pledged so far be used much more effectively elsewhere (like actually accomplishing something that so much prayer has been thrown at, to NO effect, maybe ending war, poverty, a disease or three? spitballin' here, ideas welcome).

Actually, after countless attempts to show that sinner the error of his ways, and to present the Love of our Savior to him, he repeatedly spat in the eyes of the by rejecting , and by constantly lying about various things. This grieved the so, and He told me to shake the dust off my feet as a testimony, and not to cast my pearls before swine, as I should devote my time to the many lost souls who hunger for the .
