  • The LORD Inspired Me - Again

Will There Be Custard Pudding? (At the marriage supper of the Lamb)

    1. Precious Christ, when the women of heaven
Begin to toil o'er the stove
When all time is to end, and You come round the bend,
Will their recipes include the one that brought me to You?
Will we sup on the custard pudding of God?

    CHORUS:

I was eating a bowl of my mama's custard you know
When she told me of You and Your Grace
When she got to the tidings of Your sword pierced siding
I almost fell right on my face (in the pudding)
So Dear Jesus, tell Mary or Martha or Ruth
Lest this precious dessert no more touch my tooth
When I sit at the table with golden sandals I'll be shod
But please let me sup on the custard of God (the pudding of God)

    2. Dear Redeemer, I have faced many sorrows disappointments
    and woes here below;
But this pudding (I call it Your Pudding) has sustained me.
The Bible tells us our tears and our anguish will be gone on that
    day,
When all sin has gone away and you make us bright and gay
So precious Savior, when the time comes to sup next to You,
There's but one thing I beg You to do.

    (REPEAT CHORUS)

This song is written in various forms of measure and time; Instead of trying to figure out an organized, "normal" song, allow the Holy Ghost to sing through you and I will guarantee immediate blessings. It will make YOU homesick for Glory.
    Proverbs 21:31 KJV 1611:
“The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”

Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man.
    Amen and Amen

My goodness, Brother Larry, you certainly have a way with words! I can see this being sung in church by a choir of young boys all in white robes. What a thought!
Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
    1 Corinthians 11:13

      I know right?

It goes with the Lloyd-Webber ditty, Music of the Night.

I can't find a complete instrumental solo but here's a flute version; I've skipped the intro so you can hear where the words fit. I can do a lovely transcription if you like?

. . . . . . one syllable per note as played by the flute which peters out (at recipes 4th line) so I've stopped it there.

Darling Sister Mitza, It was truly the LORD that led you to find the musical accompaniment for my inspired song. I am sure Mr. Webber won't mind if I record it using that melody. Tune up those pipes, Brother Lombardo: we have a hit on our hands.

I'm certain Mr. Webber won't mind - he stole it from Puccini.
            Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
            ...and get off my lawn

Does anyone have Puccini's phone number? I want this to be a legitimate gospel music effort.

He's been dead since 1924, so he wouldn't have a phone number.
