  • Matt 18:20 "Whenever two or more.." does not mean in front of a TV

Like others, I've read about declining church attendance across the U.S. The pandemic meant preachers had to broadcast sermons on line or on TV. Now that the pandemic is over people are not returning to church.

This can only mean as increase in sin. Confronting sin requires a person be sitting in the pew facing the preacher. Only when the preacher, like Pastor Zeke, is right there in your face confronting you with your sins can one come to realize the seriousness of them.

I have noticed an empty seat or two on some Sundays in Landover Baptist. This is a warning to anyone thinking he is following Matthew 18:20 ("Whenever two or more are gathered I am there.") when sitting on his butt at home watching a computer. God meant for you to be at Landover Baptist listening to Pastor Zeke. Your salvation is at risk. Get to church.

So right Mr Mayor. Up here in Wisconsin, I have also noted a decline in attendance at the Mercy Seat Christian Church. Pastor Matthew Trewhella has the same burning fire as Pastor Zeke, and is nearly as inspirational. You just don't get as much "online". You miss out on the after service fellowship where the womenfolk discuss pie recipes and the menfolk compare open carry hand guns. I must admit that I sometimes covet my neighbor's hand gun, but, on the other hand I have never coveted his wife. Gone to seed is the most kindly thing to say.

58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; 59 Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance. 60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee. 61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bringk upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

It'll get ugly if the Pastors don't see more motivation. The video room will be closed until further notice.

Also, if those empty seats in the main auditorium do not un-empty themselves by next week the Seat Reassignment Committee will arrange for violators to be exchanged with someone from the spillover room until they regain their motivation.

If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.
