You accept the existence of Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar on even more iffy accounts. It sounds like your hatred of God (that you secretly believe in Mr. rationalist) has driven you to a psuedo skeptic position on the existence of Jesus.

Because the person I to whom I was responding was discussing what Jesus was like, and my personal opinion on that topic isn't important.

You have clearly not read what I have written sir. I do not deny the existence of a man commonly known as Jesus, however I am yet to be convinced of his apparent abilities or links to a higher being. It is highly likely that reports of Alexander the Great were grossly exaggerated.


I would also appreciate it if you did not use the word 'you' to refer to general opinions, as it could be easily misinterpreted as a view I have previously expressed.

Perhaps my opening post was a little distasteful, however it was a genuine query due to the sheer lack of common sense that appears to be rife throughout the site.

I understand the inherent need for religion in the modern world, and I applaud it when it does the job it was intended to do. However, when members of it's flock use it to make money, or hide behind it as a shield then it should be kept in check at all times.


I apologise to anyone who feels personally offended by anything mentioned in this thread, truth be told it will not effect anyone's faith here, but at the very least will make you stop and think for once.
