I think this will toggle on to the slavery Christian reclamation program. The market should determine wages so, why should someone who is breaking the law get paid anything for their work. Clearly these illegals should be placed in a Secured Asset Associate program were they can work happily away as Jesus wants.

I realized earlier I had been doing this already by paying flat rate day wages to all my day beans. All day beans get $50 a day each which I thought was a fair, easy to cipher number for my records and theirs alike. It isn't like they are doing anything the coloreds can't do so I see no reason to over compensate them.

Besides, who are they going to complain to? The police?

Well thank you. I try to be as white as possible to the help. I recently had the the creek behind their places cleared out too. I provide a few acres for their trailers even though they tend to ruin them. I still let them rent from me.

Brother Marshall, may I refer you back to THIS sermon I gave a few years back on the very subject that you raise here. The Bible addresses "fair wages" and proves that God is always right, even when we don't agree with Him.

I think that $50/day in wages is very fair. I also think it would be very fair to charge them each $40/day for renting a trailer. And another $10/day for food.

I have used a 'Fair Wage Doctrine' at the Hutchins farm for years. Everyone gets paid fairly for their value. I do not just pull a number out of a hat or pay cute conchita's more. This is roughly how I calculate it.

1) Does the employee use proper American English? If I have to repeat or yell to be understood, I am wasting everyones time. Time is money.
2) Is the person a repented Baptist? A repented Baptist is always 100% honest and hard working.
3) Are they American? For example, I know one US dollar goes a long way in messico. I figure a family of five can live on ten dollars a day (if they are all working).

So if the person I pick up at Home Depot speaks proper American English, has verifiable proof they are a repentant Baptist and no ID, then they could work their way up to the prime rate of ten dollars (cash) a day. Of course, I expect performance for my good money and I do not just give it away.

As a responsible employer, I offer lodging at the farm for a reasonable rate. For those that live in town, I also offer transportation services. We also have a discount, on-site comany store. To make it easier for all my employees, I offer credit against future wages.

Since they don't belong here, and they shouldn't be working in the first place...I don't really see a problem with hiring daybeans at a reduced rate. It's doing us both a favor. They get to work, earn a check and so long as they do a good job I don't call the law to have them sent back to their villages or shanty towns or whatever back in Mexico.
