Unusual or Obscure Cults

Yesterday, a fellow named Q-Bert told us about a cult I found most amusing, the "Odor of the Infinite Dork".

This cult, apparently adhered to by one imaginary white-hippie-rastafarian-wannabe chaos theory researcher and Dungeons and Dragqueens fan, envisions "god" as a die of infinite sides, endlessly rolling in the heavens.

At least, that's what I could make out from the nonsensical ramblings of Q-Bert. See for yourself HERE.

Now, we're all familiar with the well-known cults; Mormonism, Scientology, Catholicism, Wicca, Emo, Obamaism, Juggalosers, etc.

What's the silliest cult you've heard of? They can be small, and obscure; the smaller and more obscure, the better, in fact! That way, they're more pure in their wackiness.

This "Infinite Dork" thing is pretty high on my list!

While I am thinking of a weird sect, I blame you for "Odor of the Infinite Dork"; wasn't it you who suggested making up a religion? Q-Bert seems to have done that.

There is the vacuum cleaner cult. They'll vacuum your house for free, provided you'll listen to their pitch while they work. As you can probably imagine, it's a fairly small group. Nobody knows what they believe, because somebody is always vacuuming while they're talking.

Cargo cults are very odd and terrible indeed. These cults begin whenever a jungle bunny finds a cell phone, and promptly shoves it up his backside in order to communicate with his gods.

My sincere thanks to the brave souls who research such awful cults, so that we may learn and yet remain safe at home.

There is the vacuum cleaner cult. They'll vacuum your house for free, provided you'll listen to their pitch while they work. As you can probably imagine, it's a fairly small group. Nobody knows what they believe, because somebody is always vacuuming while they're talking.

I am going to have to bring up the Vietnamese cult of Cao Dai (Cow Die) in a very careful manner. It's a group that places our glorious saviour Jesus on the same level with the Buddha, Shiva, and other pagan figures. They are as evil as a plastic Mary statue on a papist dashboard. About as sincere too....
