The hemp plant (scientific name: cannabis, nickname: marijuana) is one of the many useful herbs "yielding seed after its kind" (Genesis 1:12) blessed on the third day of creation and presented to people for use in conjunction with our free will. God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth....to you it will be for meat.... And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. (Genesis 1:29-31)

The Lord said ..Afore harvest, when the bud is perfect and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks and take away and cut down the branches. (Isaiah 18:4-5)

This is all very interesting!

That thou shalt not hold it as a false god, "not lie" about it, "not steal" it and "not covet" it (Ex. 20:1-17). Nowhere in the Bible does it say people cannot grow, possess or smoke cannabis hemp.

I feel safe to say that God does not hate marijuana or its use, and that damnation is not truly one toke away. Am I alone in this revelation?

I find that it allows me to think rationally about my problems with the Lord and Science. I can find my own answers and preserve my faith. I hope all of you out there can find this in it too.

On a side note, I do indeed feel holy when I have smoked. I've had long talks with God. He is a very reasonable and loving person, as is Jesus. He told me that preaching hate and showing detest for our fellow people and creatures of the Earth is unjust and is Satan's foul rationale.

But we aren't in a stupor, I'm very productive when I'm high. And I feel more connected to the Lord and His Son when I smoke. I think in all my conversations with God, sober or otherwise, he would have mentioned some distaste for my marijuana use.

And also, nothing in those quotes specifically mentions that I cannot use marijuana. It seems to be referring directly to a specific event which does not encompass the use of pot.

And I believe "smoking firebrand" was a reference to temperament, don't you agree? I think you're taking the imagery too literally.

From the verses you quote, I can only assume that you eat marijuana for its nutritional value. One does not "smoke" one's meat, one eats it.

I know of nobody who eats marijuana, do you?
