    Off-topic chatter from "Get rid of nature before it kills us"

    Wouldn't the world be just about entirely correct with 144,000 Landover Baptists and no one else ??

    The world needs scientists no matter what thier beliefs are, am i not right by saying this? I may still be young and maybe a tad naive but there should be tolerance for the people who can actually further our society through science aswell as the tolerance we give for religious leaders who give assurance to citizens in our times of worry and give guidance for people to live thier lives. I dont say any one religion is true as that would be naive but i do think that alot of the people in this forum are quite narrow minded. This may be the minority that i have noticed im not sure. Anyways thats my oppinion.

              That doesn't falter my stance on scientists. The Holocaust was actually the result of Hitler's ideals, not a scientist. Nothing wrong with any of those other things, though.

                Scientists invented sarin gas, flamethrowers, and that big tube at CERN that's going to rip a hole in the universe and suck us through into it. Do you like those things as well?

                  Not the first two, but there's nothing wrong with the LHC (I believe that's what you're referring to).

                  I don't understand the scare associated with the LHC. The probability of it creating a black hole is minute, and even if one were created it wouldn't be able to sustain itself and would be smaller than an atom. Actually black holes of this size have already been created, and we're still here.

                    Yea the Large Hadron Collider. But it really stands for "Lucifer's Hell Contraption". I don't care how "minute" the risk is, these godless scientists are putting the lives of 6,000,000+ people on this planet on the line just so they can learn about some additional flavor to a quark. It's ridiculous.

                      Actually, the results of the experiment will give us great insight into the universe's nature and creation. I don't know about you, but I think that's something pretty incredible.

                      Now, there really isn't any chance of a black hole strong enough to cause some apocalyptic event resulting from using the LHC. I'm saying this with a rather good understanding of physics, and experts with all kinds of PhD's share my views. A black hole the size of an atom would dissipate in less than a nanosecond.

                        Why not just read the Bible?
