It's a 5:40 on a Wednesday and your husband called to tell you not to worry about dinner, he's going to eat out with some of the men from work. With a little free time on your hands, you hop into your Lincoln Town Car and head off to your favorite Bible bookstore that, unfortunately, CLOSES at 6pm. Traffic is already quite busy, when suddenly you find yourself stuck behind a BUS.
Most NORMAL people don't think of buses except for those occasions where they become a nuisance. I know I didn't, not until I came across this VERY GOOD POINT today from Peter Roberts of Drivers Alliance...

And finally I hate buses because they are the symbol of a socialist society where people rely on the state to provide transport.

YES! The lazy WELFARE QUEENS of America expect MY HUSBAND'S TAXES to pay for them to get to the ABORTION CLINICS and CRACK HOUSES! No wonder so many people in this nation are enamored by SOCIALISM and expect the government to pick up the tab for EVERYTHING!
The PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION NANNY STATE is directly responsible for the mess our economy is in right now! "The government will drive me to the supermarket, so it might as well buy my food too! Then once it drives me home, it should also pay my rent! And why shouldn't I overdose on meth? The government can pay for my healthcare!"
It goes even futher than that! Go back in the history of buses in America. If it wasn't for fussing over a perfectly fine seat on a bus in the middle of the last century, JOHN MCCAIN WOULD BE PRESIDENT RIGHT NOW! (Or maybe Hillary Clinton, but we know as far as our beloved USA has strayed, not even the DemocRATs would have voted for her!)
Enough is enough. We must stand up to the JACKBOOTED THUGS who ride on buses and say NO MORE! The American economy is FALLING APART and we can no longer afford to pay for raggedy marihuana cigarette smoking bums to get a subsidized right to the WELFARE OFFICE where they can further pick our pockets so they can stock up on Colt 45 malt liquor and spend their days watching Oprah instead of GETTING JOBS!
The George W. Bush (BLESS HIM, LORD!) tax cuts are about to expire, as B. Hussein Obama and the rest of the LIEberals in Congress want to bring the economy crashing further by taking more money from the rich!
One way to keep the wealth TRICKLING DOWN and keep the tax cuts going is to SAVE MONEY by ABOLISHING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION! We may almost be there, but we are NOT YET a SOCIALIST FAILED STATE like the Soviet Union, Cuba or Sweden! If the demand for buses is there, the FREE MARKET will take care of it!
If you don't like that, then buy a car, hippy!

The thin end of the wedge Sister. I notice that like all Big-State enterprises, they are immensely inefficient.

I was told about these buses by Nephew Zebulun, who said, "Unky, you just get on and tell the driver where to go."

So I did, I got on and said to the driver, "4451 Jephthah's Drive and stop by the Wine shop whilst I buy a few things."

Well, in his surly arrogance born of disrespect and communism, he said, "I'll drop you off at 3rd and 21st, you can walk from there. That'll be $3."

I was outraged! I got off and called my faithful retainer "Boy" to collect me in the Escalade.

Service? Is that service. You can see what will happen with Obama's Death Panels - "Oh, you've had a heart attack. Here's a knife and needle and cotton, get on with it."

I know I am naive in such matters. I am glad all the unsaved trash use public transport as it gives more road space to True Christians. I just wish the buses would move out of the way to let you pass them.

Alls I know is that if you have free buses the undesirables ride them all the time. Buses have to be priced accordingly so that only the people who really need them can use them.

This nation, the GREATEST nation on Earth, transportation system second to NONE was built by private enterprise. Sure rivers were cleared of derbies by the US government, but PRIVATE shipping companies used the rivers, sure the railroads were granted land, bonds and monopolies by the government but those railroads were PRIVATE companies. All if this; rivers, harbors, railroads, interstate freeways, airports were all built for private enterprise.

You know what's even worse than buses? High Speed Rail. Anyone who supports this Eurotrash form of Big Government socialist transportation might as well stop showering, cover themselves in garlic, and start speaking French. Go to the farmer's market and pick out the smelliest cheese you can find, and pay for it with pink and orange money. Go get a check-up at the government-run hospital. Watch a soccer match, why don't you? Melt some of that brie on your baguette while listening to the Prime Minister discuss another increase in the VAT tax and other job-killing Eurotrash Big Government solutions.

And what about subways? The most heavily used subway systems in the United States are in JYC and in Washington, District of Corruption. Is it purely a coincidence that both of those cities are also overrun with AIDS?

But praise Jesus that some people are standing up to Big Transit and telling it to keep its socialist big-government hands off of their road systems. In Georgia and Maryland, people have successfully fought transit plans that would have brought undesirable elements into their communities.

Pastor I agree with you on this. It seems that all the people who ride Mas Transit live on the other side of the tracks. They all have their own stores like Wal-Mart, K mart and Save-a-Lot, why do those foul smelling buses have to travel on the good side of town. I understand that most of the people who ride them are factory or domestic workers, but why don't they just buy a cheap car and drive them to work?

Buses are a despicable affront to God. Any government that spends taxpayers money on these things might as well go the whole hog and just erect massive statues of Stalin, Kim Jong-Il and Hillary Clinton by the roadside (where, of course, they would obscure the advertising paid for by good honest private enterprise). In fact, why stop there? If you're going to rob the rich to pay for giant metal boxes for lazy poor people to ride around in touching each other and making inappropriate eye contact with people they're not married to, you might as well just go all the way and build all the roads in the shape of Tatlin's unworkable communist tower:

Yes, what kind of Christian would work for socialist institution like a county bus service? Still, to bad secular law discriminates against Christians though, that driver should have taken up a rock and started stoning that harlot before she could murder her baby.
