Biblical slavery -- can we make it more cost-effective?

I hope I am not being too forward in asking this: if slavery were still legal, would God mind terribly if we used modern medical techniques to further our use of slaves? Fixing broken teeth and ruined eyes, for example?

    Exodus 21:26-27
And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake.
And if he smite out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake.

In this day and age, what with dentures and artificial eyes and so forth, wouldn't it be cheaper to shell out for a trip to the dentist -- or fashion a wooden eye yourself -- than to set a slave free, only to have to purchase another? Even if both eyes were smited, a slave would still be of use ... blind people are so jolly independent these days! It's quite marvellous really. I'm certain only a little extra training would be required to make the newly-blinded slave feel confident in their work again.

I don't think that would be the proper approach here. Fixing the tooth after smiting it would be tricking God, as Exodus 21:26-27 is very clear on this. So it would be more cost-effective to not smite the teeth at all.

I think there are better ways to use modern technology to approach this. For example waterboarding would be an excellent Biblically correct way to make sure that the slaves are properly behaving. Also GPS tracking would be a great way to ensure they could never escape.

Being an old fashioned guy, I think there is something to be said for old fashioned solutions as well though.

I am thinking a shock collar would be extremely effective on slaves that are partial to sassing back.
Jud 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are unGodly among them of all their unGodly deeds which they have unGodly committed, and of all their hard [speeches] which unGodly sinners have spoken against him.

I've been crunching a few numbers, and I think I can safely say that, what with the huge population expolsion amoungst the nigra, wetback and cannuck tribes, that there are more than enough slaves to go around nowadays, if and when we get God's laws reinstated across this great land. In fact, there are so many that I wouldn't even waste a dime on a bandaid for one pickaninnie. They'll be cheaper than dirt, my brothers in Christ.

If a slave were freed, would it be possible for it to be engaged by anyone else?

For smitten eyes, there are some interesting alternatives available now-a-days. Would surgically removing an eyeball & replacing it with a headlight constitute a Smiting?

I for one think the biggest issue facing Christians today is the national deficient. The amount of money we owe this country is staggering and threatens our sovereignty and FREEDOM. I don't want to see a day were I am FORCED to speak Chines to my slaves.

Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

Have I mentioned that we've been working very hard on getting citizenship?

That being said, there are excellent ways of dealing with tracking slaves and correcting without doing damage. Some even have ranges up to 2 miles. You may have to do some adjusting of the collar to make sure they can't be taken off but any handyman should be able to deal with that issue.
