There isn't much about the Catholic heresy that shocks me anymore. Their priests rape boys. Their priests rape nuns. They abort babies of girls raped by their priests. Their nuns embezzle money. They worship statues, disobeying the Second Commandment, so they changed the Ten Commandments. Many of their saints are pagan deities. The list goes on and on and on. None of these facts even raise my eyebrows anymore; I got so used to the fact that Catholics hate God and apparently wish to be tormented in forever and ever, that most of their atrocities don't surprise nor shock me.
However, today I accidentally tuned in to the local PBS station (I was trying to get to Fox News after watching a program on TCT, but my tv remote had a low battery), and I have listened - in sheer horror - to this:
Here is the to the whole transcript as well as video.
That did disturb me. I mean, I know that the rape culture is what they teach in the Catholic seminary, but my understanding was that this behavior was supposed to be secret, rapes kept hush-hush, and damages covered up.
But now it seems they are officially coming out, and publicly announcing their rape culture, by deeming as venerable a man who embraced* the gay rape lifestyle. That means now the Catholic people have the Pope's permission to pray to the man who preyed on vulnerable young boys. And the Church authorities will be waiting for miracles, and as soon as the Church certifies two miracles, the rapist bishop will become an officially recognized saint.
Don't get me wrong - I'm happy for the Catholics that they decided to leave their hypocrisy behind. I'm sure it's the easier solution, rather than actually getting rid of the rape culture within clergy. Still, I'm speechless.
