All the other contenders for the Republican nomination for President speak directly about their relationship with God. They flat out say they hear from God and know they are headed for heaven.
What I like about Donald is his depth. He doesn't just blabber on about his faith and walk with Jesus. What he says needs to be studied and interpreted.
For example, he doesn't say he prays. But, when he says his faith is important and he attends church faithfully each Christmas and Easter one needs to study that.
What Donald means there is that he is praying often and hearing positive replies from God. It tells us he is closer personally to Jesus than any other politician.
Then, there is the issue of abortion. He tells this story. He used to be in favor of abortion. Then a friend of his fathered a child. The friend wanted the mother to get an abortion. She refused. Now, the father receives great joy from his child. Donald tells us this story changed his mind about abortion.
Studying this parable, one can see what Donald means without saying it directly. He is saying human life is created when the female egg unites with the male sperm and destroying this egg is murder. His expression is, again, very indirect. But he means abortion is murder.
All this is heavy stuff. It makes Donald a mysterious and deep intellectual force. We Republicans can consider ourselves fortunate to have such a man walking among us.
