  • Christians Should NOT Kill Ants!

As most of you are aware, since I've mentioned it here and there, I am a candidate for the doctorate in Creation Science. With the assistance of my friend, mentor, and spiritual guidance counselor Dr. White, (he lets me call him Elmer in private), I have been granted much knowledge (PRAISE GOD!) as I study the precepts of the Word of God and Dr. White's books, which are valuable and inerrant sources on the subject of how our world was formed and how things will be come the Glory. Hallelujah!

Nothing is too small when you're on the pathway to becoming an expert in Creation Science, so I took part in the 3-Day Symposium by Skype on the topic of "Are Ants Special?" One of the most important and eye-opening passages in God's Word is surely Proverbs 30:25, in which the Lord speaks of ants as PEOPLE. Yes, you read that correctly. And yet, millions of people step on ants every day. Millions of us purchase ant killers and traps. Be aware that we are told clearly, THOU SHALT NOT KILL, and we will not escape the wrath of our LORD just because our victims are small. We need to be communicating with the ants because they are people just like the lesser races are people.

Still another bit of advice in the book of Proverbs is seen in Proverbs 6:6. We are to go to the ant for help! What a display of humility this is. Once again, it would be like Pastor Zeke going to a black woman for spiritual guidance. Because our pastor is such a friend of Jesus, there is no doubt in my mind that he has indeed consulted with ants and has come away with great wisdom. But: have YOU? Are YOU guilty of thinking of ants as insects?

We here take the Word of God to be our instruction book in this vale of tears below. Just as we believe John 3:16 or 1 John 1:9, we must embrace the two passages I have pointed out in Proverbs and begin to treat ants as our equals. Welcome them to your picnics. Welcome them to your gardens. Indeed, welcome them inside your homes. Set places for them at your dining table.

Oh, I can just hear some of you saying, "What has gotten into Brother Larry? Does he think we will accept his words?" Well, friends, it's not a matter of accepting MY words.

This is a matter of accepting GOD's WORD. So there. Don't let arrogance keep you from Heaven. Go speak to an ant today. Right now. Free them from our zoos and their underground caves. Learn from them, lest you be a sluggard. THEY ARE PEOPLE! Repeat that until it sinks in. You are not smarter than God. I'm sorry if this seems uppity - but you are all aware of my innate intelligence, and the LORD Himself directed me to these gems of knowledge. Continue to pray with and for me as I journey toward greatness in spiritual matters.

    GIVE GOD THE GLORY!

PS: Dr White, I hope you'll consider allowing ants to lecture in the program very soon. We have much to learn from them.
    Proverbs 21:31 KJV 1611:
“The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”

Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man.
    Amen and Amen

    Brother Larry,

Thank you for your enlightening and informative post!

So hypothetically speaking, if someone was talking to ants on a daily basis, piling up sugar in specific locations in their backyard, then creating ant obstacle course with twigs and tiny ditches and tiny mounds and things like that, that would not be weird at all, right?

Not that I would ever hear about such behavior, of course, which would be impossible at this time due to snow covering the ground anyway.

I leave you all with an image of some very nice ants:

is this a private place? Isn't this in the open. My authority that is on the verge of becoming relatively average in the Creation Science Community would not benefit from too much intimacy, Brother.

        Proverbs 11:13
A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

I concur. Ants might be people. That, however, would not necessarily condemn us from slaying them. It is sometimes perfectly OK to slay people. When Jesus commands, His troops obey.

        Esther 8:11
Wherein the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that would assault them, both little ones and women, and to take the spoil of them for a prey,

As you can see, there's the obvious mention of women, but the little ones (probably referring to infants) could as well mean all people of a tiny body size, hence, ants would fall within that category. I'd say that if the ants assault or could one day assault or have assaulted us ever, then we can cause them to perish.

        Yours in Christ,

Re: Christians Should NOT Kill Ants!

Hello again Dana. It's always a pleasure reading what esteemed Prof. White and valued equine gnathologist Brother Larry write about God's word. I was just pondering ants in the home. God gave a certain parcel of land to the descendants of Abram Genesis 15:18 although these had not been born yet. Actually Abram had no children at all, then. So there was plenty of time for anyone hanging around to go somewhere else. This was not very long after the flood Luke 3:34-36 and plenty of room was available for the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaims, Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites to co-exist peacefully. Somewhere else. Not on land promised to someone else.

Ants do live around here, outside, and are not a nuisance in any way. As a people I know I should respect them. The heathen swarms usurping God's authority..they'd be rather small swarms in so few generations..were a serial pest effectively biting and stinging the Israelites at every opportunity. That is very disrespectful and such a pest needs to be eliminated. God explained how that was to be achieved.

It would not be inconsistent with God's commandment to treat disrespectful ants in the home, attempting to steal food and sting you, just as those serial pests were dealt with in accordance with God's instructions. That would not mean ants were useless for instruction as a people, I thought, but some of them seeking to usurp authority in the home would be more like those usurping tribes who mocked God by living in the cities they'd built even after God transferred ownership to Israel.

I hope this point is answered, it will be interesting for both of us.
