Well, making money isn't the bigger problem anymore. I like to earn it as much as anyone. It is rampant greed problem anymore. I like to earn it as much as anyone. I agree 100%. It is the rampaging greed of the secularist left that is destroying our society with their nanny state handouts to the wicked poor. The way they have persecuted hard working wealth creators like Madoff just chills me to the bone.

You have quite the sense of humor. Your explanation regarding the stars and the sun were also enjoyable and interesting. I was not aware of that differences in religous literature. Science of course, does not distinguish.

I like your comment on science. I do not think all science believes this. I work in medicine and most of the surgeons I know fully admidt to God having power over life and death. They pray before every surgery and they are men of science. Personally, I think we are very different than any animal here. We are the only reason for the Earth to even be. But none of this makes science evil - it just means some people are evil. Some people have lost the ability to communicate and to fold conflicting ideas into two sides of the same coin.

While there are good and true Christian scientists most are just tools of Satan who refuse to believe the truths God has written on their very hearts! Science is evil and wrong when it contradicts Holy Scripture and makes up nonsense about disease being caused by little animals and not God’s wrath upon sinners. As a Christian I have no time for this nonsense that illness is caused by things no one can see and only men with special knowledge can cure.

I will laugh for a moment now because my cats believe they "own" me. I am their caretaker but that is my job. They are my reason to be.

BTW I am puzzled at your name. You clearly believe in God yet you call yourself an agnostic. You do realize an agnostic doubts the existence of God?

Well, I am nondenominational so what should I call it. By not picking a faith, the best term I could think on the fly was Agnostic. However, I do believe just as stated and quite strongly. My faith is 100%.

I differ with you guys on the science part and probably quite a bit more than I'd like to say as your group has defined your lives by your faith. I have not - at least yet. I do NOT think science ALWAYS contradicts scripture. Although I do believe some people are struck down by disease due to their own evil. I also believe as mortal beings, we are subject to diseases. It is what makes us human. It is why we have the power to choose and the ability to care for the sick, to purify water, to manufacture food, to communicate on the Internet or to publish a book.

I will say I did nothing about my "miracle" until I was struck down by a terrible near fatal disesae. So, there is something to your thoughts and I am living proof. However, I am not willing to say ALL disease is a result of personal evil. It might be the result of our overall stupidity or lack of appreciation for this magnificent planet. But "ALL" - that's a big term. A lot to grasp.

Similarily, I do not think because I believe the sun is 93 zillion miles away and the planets revolve around it, this proves that God does not exist. I did read what some of the other posters have pointed out in the King James version and do not see a conflict. I think we could argue semantics and symbols and various dual meanings to words which would prove fruitless because I respect your beliefs. I have never traveled beyond our world and looked back to see if what I learned in science class was true.

However, suppose you look at a blueprint with a circle drawn on the surface. Are you looking at a circle, a ball or a cylinder? Could you be looking at all of them based on your perspective and the type of information given? This is how I believe there arrises conflict not just between you and I but between all religions and beliefs. Babel at its best. We are all looking at the same thing but based on the information we are given, we translate it into something different - only its not. It is the same picture/image described by different people. You are looking at the world through the eyes of a total spiritual experience. I am not but it does not make view any less breathtaking or any less real.

Sin will always be sin and I am not trying to sugar coat evil or nonbelievers. But sometimes even believers see a cylinder while another sees a circle and they both would be right.

Does this make any sense or am I rambling?

Well, I am old as dirt. So, I guess I missed the dieing young part. I could not translate the Bible and do not want to or even argue about it. If reading it and following it were easy, we would all have a free ticket to heaven. Somehow I do not think that is the case.

I am still looking for some resources on proof of angels. . . Anyone?

Well considering all the proof we have on the existence of God and the infallibility of the Bible that results thereof, we can easily conclude that angels exist 100% guaranteed.

You think too much like a scientist. Why do you need proof for something you already know? Anybody who does not believe that winged spirits reside in the sky in God's heavenly kingdom is just a hell-bound sinner, and no amount of testimonies will change that.

Well, that works for me and you, but not for a book. So, anybody PLEASE someone out there must have a suitable reference well-known to either Bible scholars or religious leaders. I cannot possibly be the first person who needed a scholarly or at least confirmable reference regarding ordinary people encountering angels. (Yes, I know I can do a Google or even go to the Journal of Religious Studies. This website seemed like it would have some readers with ample material. I might be mistaken and am not going to ask anymore.)

Sorry, about the scientist thing - I cannot help it. It has always been my downfall. My kids hate it unless they are sick or have some clincial question. I think like one and can go on and on about nothing. Oh, but you have come to realize this.

You really don't get it.

The only truly credible source is God. He gave us a book in which He described angels; terrifying creatures, not winged sissies and infants like the one in your avatar.

Here's some basic info on real Angels:

Sometimes an angel appears to be a man with unusual features. Daniel saw an angel with arms and legs resembling polished metal and precious stones, and a face like lightning (Daniel 10:5-6). The angel that rolled back the stone from Christ's tomb was radiating dazzling light (Matthew 28:3; Luke 24:4). The book of Revelation describes some highly unusual beings who may be a variety of angel in Revelation 4:6-8.

Angels in the Bible never appear as cute, chubby infants! They are always full-grown adults. When people in the Bible saw an angel, their typical response was to fall on their faces in fear and awe, not to reach out and tickle an adorable baby.

People who get into accidents and miraculously survive often claim, in their shocked and deluded state, that a "guardian angel" protected them. They've been influenced by non-Biblical programs like "Touched by an Angel", and believe that angels are running around playing nursemaid to protect special people, while letting everyone else around them be horribly disfigured or splattered across the pavement. These are the stories you'll see on websites and in books.

In the Bible, angels are described as God's servants. They are messengers, mostly. Not babysitters for incompetent fools.
