Proof that Atheists Believe in God

Scientists have proven that atheists actually believe in God, and express it through "superstition" so they don't have to confess their faith!

The study which shows that atheists can sometimes hold superstitious beliefs as strongly as those with religious convictions, is to be published in an upcoming edition of the Journal of Culture and Cognition.

"Adults almost have to fight against these intuitions," said Hood. "There's evidence from other labs that when adults are in stressful situations or when they have a degree of compromise to mental function through brain disease, then they revert back to a superstitious way of thinking."

This is why "there are no atheists in foxholes".

Uhm, I'm not sure I know what you mean Sister Jenny. I thought animals couldn't go to Heaven?

So when foxes get old or have like brain cancer or something, they all of a sudden believe in Jesus? I'm sorry if I'm just being a dumdum, but some of that science talk goes right over my head.

Atheists have as much faith, if not more, than True Christians(tm). However, they like to whitewash it by calling it "logic" or "reason", which are clearly misnomers given their beliefs. Anyone who blindly believes in a bunch of crazy biology professers who tout Evilution is guilty of this. Funny how if I have blind faith in the Lord I'm "misguided, prone to flights of fancy, and stupid", but the same blind faith in professors and textbooks is suddenly "logical, reasonable, and true".

It's true. They like to throw around numbers like 4 billion years for the age of the Earth. That sounds like some sort of made up number used by kids or used for effect in movies or used to calculate spending by liberals.

6,000 is a reasonable number. It's the sort of number that a serious adult uses. Yet they want to claim they are the ones who use "reason".

4 billion years, monkeys for ancestors, cats turning into dogs...yet they call us delusional.

It is even worse that that brother; according to the Darwinists in 13 billion years hot gas turned into people. That is right Darwinists think were are all nothing but hot air! It is this kind of nonsense that fills us Christians with rage. We Christians have no time for ideas concocted by old men taking gobbledygook, we Christens deal with TRUETH and hard FACTS!

Jenny this is an absolutely ridiculous thing to say. Did you actually think this out before posting?

I presume u didn’t give this much thought?

Superstitions are something with all of us, probably as we have evolved our tiny brains have tried to explain things which at the time were unexplainable or unfathomable by our primitive way of thinking. The only justification was to assume "a noise" or "something else" was the work of an unseen agent as it was the only conclusion we could draw upon.

Not to mention I would imagine it is an instinct raised for reacting to a predatory threat. Assuming a noise was being made by a potential animal about to kill you might prepare you for a quick and life saving response.

I would say superstition is inherent in all of us as evolved life forms, from previous generations when it was viable to think in such a way.

It doesn’t constitute an agreement to the existence of a god.

Anyway if you believe what you're saying then apparently we atheists do believe in god so we'll see each other in heaven anyway, right? It’s just you wasted your life worrying and praying for it

I can't believe I am seeing this. An actual grown human believes the world is 6000 years old. The reason being "the sort of number that a serious adult uses"?

Hey buddy, how about you make your way over to the introduction forum and introduce yourself properly. Have you no manners? Do you walk into all conversations with people who don't know you and frankly do not care for your unsaved opinion and start attacking?

Tell us about how you came to rejecting the one true God. Were you abused as a child, or perhaps the opposite, not smacked enough to know good from bad? I am sure we would all love to hear about your trials and tribulations - in the correct thread!!!

I thought your lot prayed for the souls of others rather than cast them out? Seems to me you're in for a fiery eternity, if thats what you beleive in.

Also what do you think of the American founding fathers being secularists and certainly not christian? Why do you attempt to force your american christianity down the worlds throat and proclaim it to be the Amercian way when your country was not founded in this way?
