Having just read this thread, it seems amazing to me that you all claim to have read the Bible.

Oh dear. I'm going to give you a free Bible lesson. Let's start with Matthew 1.

Jesus was a descendant of who? That's right I put it in bold for you so it would be easy for you to understand who I'm talking about. Jesus is a descendant of David.

Now the Bible doesn't tell us what Jesus looked like, but it does tell us what David looked like.

1 Samuel 16:12 And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.

1 Samuel 17:42 And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.

Ruddy 1. (of the complexion) having a healthy reddish colour, usually resulting from an outdoor life

Yep, David was fair and red headed just like Jesus. I get so tired of having to explain that Jesus wasn't a darkie.

Just because 'God' was his father, does not mean that he was white or had blue eyes. There is no REAL proof that he looked this way. Also, what does it matter whether i'm an atheist or not? I have my reasons for not believing in God, as im sure you have reasons for believing that he is real. I have read the bible, actually. I took Bible studies at college, therefore have read the bible extensively enough to know your views are out of control. A true christian would not mock or persecute another for not having the same beliefs. Is that what Jesus did? I believe not. He forgave people, and treat everyone he met (yes, even women, prostitutes and lepers :O ) as an equal. Next, yes, Jesus was a descendant of David but that does not mean that they look the same or have the same characteristics. How do we know these people are telling the truth? Chinese people show Jesus to be chinese, Africans show him to be African. This blone haired, blue eyed jesus is just another variation on the theme. Finally, i believe that there are many more athiests in the world than there are of you, who are a tiny minority of people in one little part of the world.

The professor who "taught" you about the Bible in college should be expelled.

Mark 16:16 "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."


2nd Timothy 4:1-2 "I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine."

Deuteronomy 4:2 "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you."

Actually, I believe the word you're looking for is 'teached', not 'taught'. I think it's time for you to go back to school and learn some correct grammar. It is obvious that you do not have a real answer for me, so have had to turn to correcting my grammar, which did not need correcting in the first place

So explain to me, a man who has murdered several people in cold blooded hatred, yet is a believer in God will go to Heaven, whilst a person who has done work for charities, helped children and the vulnerable and has lived a good life, yet does not believe, will go to Hell? Is that right, because it does not seem it to me...

Yes, confess your sins and accept Jesus as your saviour,

If you had actually read the Bible you would know that the Lord does not judge us according to the works of the Law, but according to our faith in Jesus Christ.

Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

That does not mean that you can just run around murdering people and still get into heaven (James 2:10). However, this tells us that Jesus is always ready to forgive us for our actions if we only repent of our sins and accept Him as the one and only Savior.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
