I'm sure everyone has seen snow peak on mountain. Now if the earth was round then it would explain the north pole but then why would there also be ice on the bottom of the earth. You don't sea snow peaks on the bottom of mountains. I used the argument to prove the earh is flat to this athiest today and it left him complty speechless. His athiest logic failed him becuase he could not come up with a comeback to my biblical truth.

Think about this for a second. If Jesus is standing on a mountain in Israel, how could He see a kingdom in Israel's antipode? (That means on the opposite side of the spherical Earth.) Even if the mountain was a thousand miles high, you couldn't see the other side. It's physically impossible.

So either the Gospels are wrong or a random person on the internet is. Hmm...which is it I wonder?

The Earth doesn't need to be round for somebody to circumnavigate it. Take a look at this picture:



Hopefully that will explain how somebody can go around the world without it being a sphere.

Gravity doesn't exist. God makes sure nothing floats up into the heavens and makes sure anything that goes up falls back to the ground. The creation science term for this is intelligent pulling.

Of course the sun revolves around the Earth. We know this because the Bible supports this.

"Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? These verses show the sun's orbiting the earth being halted through the power of God, and it also implies that the sun orbits the Earth, except when God decides it shouldn't.

And you're also assuming the sun is bigger than the Earth. This is simply not the case, its obviously much smaller and more like a spotlight that shines on certain parts of the Earth at a time.

I have read about these people in books, but I have not witnessed them personally. Are you saying that because you read something in a book that you just believe it is true on faith because a book tells you so?

Again, it seems that secular science is your god. All these things you are claiming are TRUTH are just things you have read about. I doubt you have ever personally measured how fast your supposed spherical earth spins, let alone checked yourself that the earth is a sphere.

be aware this is going to be a long post, iam not here to spark anger but here to have a intellectual discussion with what i feel to be misinformation from Rev Jim Osborne.

1) Jump!
Now, scientists claim that Earth is spherical and rotating at a speed of between 700-1000 miles per hour, depending on your latitude. This is a very high rate of speed. You can disprove this nonsense by simply jumping up as high as you can. Really, it's that simple. What happens when you jump? You come straight down to where you were. But, if the Earth were indeed spinning at such a fast speed, wouldn't you land hundreds of feet away?

If you were to stand in the flat bed of a truck going 75 mph, and jump straight up, what would happen? You wouldn't fall straight down. You would fall out of the truck. That's because trucks move, the Earth doesn't. This experiment proves the Earth is fixed in space and doesn't move.

This experiment is null and i will tell you why it is null.

Everyone who did this experiment i want you to try another....

Take a box of tissues and put it in your car behind the back seat ontop of the boot.

now drive down a empty street (please be safe and concentrate while you are doing this) at about 60 kmph (about 40mph) and then hit the breaks quite hard..... end result will be that the box of tissues would fly from the back seat forward.

Why this happens is because of energy being carried, now i dont know full science of it as i never did science but this is the same thing that happens when you JUMP the earth is moving and the energy is carried along with it in your body and with other objects that have mass.

If earth were to stop moving then yes you would fly forward and hit something on the way down. but while you are driving if you throw the box of tissues in the air (inside your please be safe get a passenger to do this) then it would not move but travel with the car. Till the car stops then it will move forward, do you understand what iam saying?

try this and tell me iam wrong. So yes you are basicly the box of tissues in the car.

iam not scientifically educated enough to comment on your BLOW experiment but iam sure if we can get a scientist in here that can explain the magnetism and mass of it all you can see the truth for yourself.

ok this one really astonished me, as i couldnt believe that everyone believed this.

3) Get High!
Ok, this one you really can't do at home, but you can do it out in the world. Stand on the ground and look around you. What's the farthest you can see? Maybe it's a building, tree, or mountain. Now, find some place very close to it where you can get a much higher vantage point. (This also works if you're on a jet and about to take off.) Notice how in the higher place you can see much farther? You can see more of the world the higher you get. This shows the world is flat because the higher you go, the easier it is to see over obstacles. At the same time, it shows the world cannot be spherical. Because if the world was curved, the far distance would forever remain out of view because of the Earth's curvature. It would eternally be over the horizon.

If the Earth was a sphere, it would not matter how high you went, you would still see the same thing. Since this is not the case, the Earth is flat.

You should know that what you just is contradictory

Stand on a beach

If the world is curved yes you would see untill you hit the atmosphere and not see any more earth which is probably the blue you see at the end.....

If the world is not curved you would see atmosphere cause it would come down to the edge of the world.......

so this point can be completely discarded as you would have the same answer for each argument.

So now you are left with one experiment still in hand AGAINST A THOUSAND PHOTOS from NASA and people traveling across the globe and not falling off the edge or hitting a blank wall.

i am very interested to see your reply and hope there is a scientist or scholar in your church that will be at hand to prove me wrong

You can also observe, with binoculars, ships slowly 'sinking' below the horizon as it sails farther and farther out to the ocean, then watch them come back. They certainly didn't fall off the edge of the earth! You can also sail or fly around the world.

The Greeks discovered that the earth is round by observing lunar eclipses (i.e. when the earth blocks the sun from the moon, casting its round shadow on the moon's surface).

Another method is simultaneously measuring the length of the shadows cast by identical poles perpendicular to a flat surface that is tangential to the earth's radius at various, distant locations. If indeed the earth is round, then the shadows should all vary in length from one distant location to another, which means that the angle at which the parallel rays of sunlight struck each pole varied from one location to another. (recall the alternate-angles theorem from Geometry class) If the earth is flat, then the lengths of all the shadows should be identical when measured simultaneously, since all rays of sunlight that strike the earth are parallel. However, they are not identical, but in fact, varies in such a way that the angles indicate a spherical surface. (This was one of the earliest methods to determine the radius of the earth)

Also, keep in mind the 24 hour time zones. When it is noon in Hawaii, it is approximately midnight in the Middle East and vice versa. How can it be noon and midnight simultaneously? It is certainly impossible with a flat earth and a sun millions of times more massive.
